Hey @HomePodjak, sorry to be a bother, but I had ordered, with the help of a friend, a cable for the first gen HomePod, and it was marked as shipped 2 weeks ago, yet USPS says they are still "awaiting item". Was it marked shipped in error, per chance? Out of curiosity.

Well here's a fun fact, Woot (Amazon company) sells Apple Refurbished/used devices My homepod was "factory reconditioned" and came in an Apple box from Apple Interesting discovery here

That's ya boy myself being shouted out by @iFixit in their HomePod 2 teardown video. MAKE TOOLS WITH ME PLS

@iFixit work with me to make an iNic's Fixit extended length t6 torx bit with 4mm shank so we can reach the deeply-recessed screws inside (2nd gen) Apple HomePods...and sure other stuff, too. The flexible extension is too wide to reach many recessed screws in smaller holes.

@mweinbach HOMEPODE MENTIONED AFAIK all 1st gens, new or refurb, are from the same run and none were ever repaired. Not sure about 2nd gen / mini but they have design changes that make repair “easier” with access to the right tools and parts (which they’ve still not given us per R2R)

That’s a GOOD BOY crack that $2,500 speaker wipe open like the fragile little egg the company is. While you’re at it, replace their crApp for me so I don’t have to count on their cloud anymore. Cheers

@HomePodjak The battery lasts ages though, so it’s not too bad if it charges slowly. I just plug it in at night or when I go to work.

If you were curious; the USB-C Apple TV Remote charges at a (peak) whopping 1-2 watts. 5v 0.3a

@willow_2 No clue, what's wild is the remote always lives on the couch or carpeted floor, so any drops would be negligible. Power button disappeared without a trace one day.
