Just wanted to drop my authentic thoughts on Crimson Desert. Super early impressions about five hours in, roughly Chapter 3 and a half, just giving my overall take. Overall, I’m very unimpressed so far. From what I’ve heard, the game is supposed to get a lot better after the 10 hour mark, but right now I’m not blown away at all. A lot of people are praising the combat, but as someone who’s probably further along than most outside of early access players, it really hasn’t been anything special. It just feels like basic combos. I don’t think people with an hour and a half in have really fought much or unlocked anything meaningful yet, so I’m a bit confused by that praise. The bigger issue for me is the pacing. There are way too many puzzles and too many segments where you’re slowly following things to certain locations while listening to dialogue that just isn’t interesting. That has easily been the least enjoyable part of the experience so far, and I don’t understand why there’s so much of it this early. The worst part of the game, though, is the controls. They feel clunky, unresponsive, and just poorly designed. I don’t understand why sprinting requires a double tap on Shift, and there’s this noticeable delay before actions actually register. It feels off in a way that’s hard to ignore, and it drags everything down.Right now, I’d give the game about a 71 at best. It feels underwhelming, and honestly that score might be a bit generous. One last thing, not even about the game itself. The glazing around this game has been insane. Maybe it grows into something great later on, but right now it’s hard to believe that anyone not in early access is having an amazing Time with the combat you're still doing basic puzzles and escort stuff. #CRIMSONDESERT

Play more games. You'll enjoy the hobby way more, in the long run. Less worrying about games that don't interest you specifically. Those games will thrive or fail without you, either way. Opinions are great but sometimes it's best to just let things be, and enjoy your hobby.

do I have any creator friends looking for PAID opportunities that would love to make content? I’m looking for those who love the following: - cooperative games - arcade silly games specifically that like shoes and rebel ideology - deep experiences that engage conversation

NO amount of budgeting is going to make up for the fact that a lot of people do not make enough money for this economy anymore. And that’s sad 😔

This attitude absolutely reeks. I've been to enough press events now to have seen the pendulum swing the other way. More often, it's content creators struggling, not the journalists from big outlets. But who honestly cares? Do your own thing, stop worrying about others.

@LegacyKillaHD I predicted after the preview that this is one that game journalists will loathe. There is zero hand holding and even at the preview event I witnessed several journalists from big outlets getting stuck in the tutorial puzzle for 45 plus minutes...

"games journalists bad at games" is such a pick me thing to say for someone who does games journalism. It's giving "not like other girls" energy. Presenting yourself as a "real gamer" by putting down journalists is basically a dog whistle these days because it's something all the culture war grifters do to try and discredit criticism that doesn't align with their views, or to try and give more credibility to whatever bs they're selling. How are people falling for this shit so blindly when journalists are beating games like Elden Ring before release and publishing the guides and walkthroughs all of you needed to do the same?

People work 8–10 hours a day, 5 days a week for someone else’s profit. Then they spend 4 hours at night staring at screens. Basically, living for weekends + 4 weeks PTO on repeat until age 65. While the government takes 25–30% their income. And we’re told this is “normal.”

I love how we have experts on seeing gameplay. Watching a game being played isn’t the same as playing the game itself. It's not your inputs, but through someone else. How they choose to interact or control a character. How is that any different from watch a sport vs playing it?

This game is truly the most pure show of what attention to detail and quality can look like. If you’re into the monster hunter world I think you’ll love a lot about it, if you’re a fan of turn based games you HAVE to play the demo!

@DevEthos Even as a non Mass Effect fan at the time. I was aware how much fans of the game praised the combat in Andromeda. Playing through the 3rd now, and while it's smoother than previous games. No shoulder swap is crazy & should of been in it. lol

Capcom heard you. 🟡 After years of memes and debates, Capcom has ditched using yellow paint for their signposting in RE9 in favor of more diegetic and immersive ways of guiding players. "How Resident Evil Requiem Fixed Yellow Paint" is out now! 🔗🔽
