Prince William and Prince George’s recent visit to @PassageCharity was a powerful reminder of the incredible work that happens across the homelessness sector at this time of year, and all year round.

🚀 As many head back to work after the break, we’re spotlighting young people in Lambeth stepping into new employment. Through the Homewards Lambeth Coalition, @PretFoundation , Department of Work and Pensions and Lambeth College are supporting young adults like Nzinga.

One year of #Homewards delivery. From £1.5m in local projects to national partnerships - like £50m lending from Lloyds & 250 homes furnished with Multibank support - we’re proving homelessness can be prevented. This is just the start, with more to come in 2026.

Homelessness isn’t caused by one thing. Nearly half the public wrongly believe drugs & alcohol are the main driver. Since 2023, #Homewards has platformed lived experience through art, interviews & workshops, to challenge misperceptions around the issue.

Earlier this month, HRH The Prince of Wales visited @centrepointuk, the first charity he became a Patron of. His work with Centrepoint & @PassageCharity inspired the launch of #Homewards, to show it's possible to make homelessness rare, brief & unrepeated.

In Sheffield, #Homewards & @RoundaboutSheff launched Upstream - a school-based scheme offering tailored support to young people and families at risk of homelessness. Schemes like this show what can be done to make homelessness rare, brief & unrepeated.

Upstream is a scheme that helps schools identify young people at risk of homelessness through a survey.  It started in Australia where it was shown to reduce youth homelessness by a staggering 40%.  Homewards is scaling this to help more young people across our 6 locations.

Stable work builds income, confidence, connection & security. Yet people at risk of homelessness face hidden barriers to work. NEON exists to break those barriers & prevent homelessness. NI is leading the way – inspiring other Homewards locations to follow. 💡

Northern Ireland is using employment to prevent homelessness. This autumn marked the first meeting of Homewards’ NEON – the New Employment Opportunities Network – hosted by partner PwC. NEON unites businesses, public services & the voluntary sector.

We need to better understand why this is happening, and what can be done to prevent it. Last year, Prince William visited @SimonCommNI's The Foyer to hear directly from young people.

One third of people with care experience in the UK become homeless within the first two years of exiting the care system. In NI, ~140 young people each year leave care and present as homeless.

It’s Homelessness Awareness Week in Northern Ireland. Part of our work in Homewards NI is focused on supporting care experienced young people.

Smart tech. Targeted support. Real impact. Just in time for Christmas, this is a first-of-its-kind council partnership, demonstrating that by working together, it is possible to end homelessness.

Eligible users who download the app receive cashback when they shop which goes straight towards rent arrears - and now also council tax - thanks to the Homewards Fund.

Homewards Lambeth's new partnership with purpose. @Lambeth_Council is teaming up with Housing Perks to help residents at risk of homelessness.
