#FRENCH News of French soldiers pouring into Ghana to organize stimulations on how to fight Galamsey is most shocking. What do French soldiers know about Galamsey? Why do we create the impression that we cannot do anything for ourselves without the involvement of those who colonized us? It is time for our leaders to understand that the armies of the ex-colonizers have only one objective, which is to protect the legacies of their countries. This must be in sharp contrast to the objective of independent African countries which must be the protection of national sovereignty expressed as the right to own our resources and exploit them for the benefit of our people.

'There is nothing hard about reducing cocoa prices, there is everything spineless about it.' – Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the NPP, calls the President’s State of the Nation Address on the cocoa price cut a convenient and spineless action. He argues the government is collapsing the cocoa sector while facing the people, describing it as a dereliction of duty. Totally empty commentary. I think he just learned the word "spineless" and phrases "dereliction of duty" and "abuse of monopoly" ( he meant monopsony). This is not constructive criticism. He offers no explanation why it is "spineless" to reduce the producer price in response to a drop in world market price.

Cocoa farmers are going to earn 29% less income per bag for the rest of the season. There is no way anyone can argue that they are better off now. It is actually insensitive to compare the current situation to 2024 and claim they are better off. They have lost over 1,000 cedis per bag. The real baseline should be what their average earnings per bag were before the reduction, not what they earned in a different year. Yes, you can point to factors that explain the decline, but the fact remains that farmers are receiving less money than they did a month ago. That is a loss in income and has welfare implications.

That’s a Lie!!! The NDC introduced Cocoa Roads at Cocobod in 2015 in this current format not NPP. The NDC actually, Recklessly turned a cocoa marketing institution into a road sector. The NDC took a syndicated loan of $1.8billion dollars to buy cocoa beans. They squandered it all. In 3weeks, between December 9 - December 30, 2016, after losing the elections, the NDC distributed a whooping $400million dollars of cocoa money to road contractors without buying the cocoa. The NDC Ultimately left a gapping debt of GHc19billion Dollars. The NPP didnt go about crying and wailing and using that as an excuse to give cocoa farmers a wicked Haircut. The NPP had to borrow from Bank of Ghana to be able to buy cocoa beans in that year. Massa Franklin Cudjoe, if you have nothing to add to getting cocoa farmers get their promise fulfilled. Just stay out of this. You won’t be allowed to gaslight anyone with this mercenary job. Cocobod debt was there and yet NPP managed to buy Cocoa at 3,100 without Haircut. Show some respect to the farmers and get your NDC government to do their damn job without excuses!!!!

I decided to start my medical practice outside Accra, and it was awesome. By the end of my first year, I was doing procedures that many of my mates in Accra/Kumasi didn't get the chance to do. So there are real benefits of working outside the capital and big cities. However, there are real challenges as well; logistics, staff shortage, burnout, limited diagnostics, etc. Many countries solve rural staffing with incentives, not threats. In other countries, rural and underserved postings often come with higher pay or added benefits such as loan repayment, housing support, signing bonuses, and funded training. That logic is simple: if you want doctors to stay in rural areas, you make rural practice financially and professionally attractive. Removing doctors from payroll may sound tough, but it will not solve the problem. We should shift from threats to a clear rural incentive package with transparent funding, housing, safety, equipment, and career progression. We will not fix doctor shortages in rural communities with ultimatums This tactic has been repeated for years. It has never changed the outcome.

Ghana must not become a playground for foreign nationals who engage in exploitative behaviour that disrespects our people and values. Such actions must be strongly condemned and addressed through the law. At the same time, young Ghanaian women must prioritize personal safety, self-awareness, and self-respect in all interactions!
