I went out into the woods to write a book, no one got a clue that The Journal Of Arthur Stirling was actually about me:(

I resented critics who reviewed my work as Chinese literature when I felt I was writing American stories about America. I had the sense of small minds in China and America defending their smaller reality.

To me success means effectiveness in the world, that I am able to carry my ideas and values into the world - that I am I able to change it in positive ways.

The sweat of hard work is not to be displayed. It is much more graceful to appear favored by the gods.

I learned to make my mind large, as the universe is large, so that there is room for contradictions.
