@ofneighborhoods “ i don’t think it’s captain america she’d have an issue with, i’d say it would be steve rogers. he’s less popular out there. ” he drinks down any residual words with a swig of water. “ there’s these looks she throws my way that make me think, ‘ maybe —

that kid looked nothing like me !

@sovietshadows “ couch then, ” he reaffirms. sitting back into the corner, he adjusts her thighs for their comfort and picks up where they left off. at ease with her words and their earlier conversation shelved for later, he kisses with less stress and hesitation.

@sovietshadows “ is that a statement or a request? ”

@sovietshadows “ you didn’t. well, not in a way that i minded. ” a sweet little kiss back. “ okay. . thanks. ” reinforcing his grip on her legs, he shuffles over to the couch and sits them down for a more comfortable time. “ here okay? ”

@ofneighborhoods “ i am. but like you, kid, i’m not obligated to answer. ” he breathes out. “ my neighbor. she’s — cute. but i don’t know what she thinks about me, so i’m not exactly making a move. ”

@HonorsLiberty “ not what i meant , but nice try though . if i had to subject to questioning , so do you . ”

@sovietshadows again, he slowly and meekly, but decisively, bobs his head up and down. “ yeah? you sure? ”

@sovietshadows he thinks about it for a second then nods in agreement. “ yeah — yes, i do. be my good girl, ” not fully knowing the connotation of what he just said, he resumes making out. after a minute, he breaks away. “ sorry — don’t really have much experience doin’ this .”

@sovietshadows “ no? might have to try that then. ” and back to her lips he goes. if there were a time he was grateful for his super strength, it was now; he could fully focus on tasting the lips of someone he both trusted and found astonishingly beautiful.

@ofneighborhoods if this were a cartoon, he would have a bead of sweat forming on the side of his forehead. “ uh, yeah, i see you right now, ” he answers rather sarcastically.

@HonorsLiberty “ are you seeing anyone ? ” he hasn’t lost the grin yet . it’s just stretched to enable the act of chewing . he’s still very much proud of himself for turning the tables around on him .

@ofneighborhoods as soon as steve clocks that grin, he knows he’s in serious trouble. then, the question drops. he sighs. “ tsk. all right, what do you wanna know? ”

@HonorsLiberty he polishes off another slice in roughly three bites . like steve , he goes for a garlic knot , grinning cheekily around dough before he pops it in . “ let’s talk about 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 dating life . ”

@sovietshadows he doesn’t have the strength to resist a kiss, but his grip on her chin doesn’t falter. instead, it strengthens. after their lips touch, he pulls back and meets her eyes again. “ hey. you’re gorgeous. i’m not gonna shut up about it. ”

@ofneighborhoods finishing his slice, he decides to indulge in a garlic knot. “ tsk, not an intervention, i was just wondering. keep your secrets then. what do /you/ wanna talk about? ”

@HonorsLiberty his mouth falls open and closes too —— he does a pretty decent impersonation of a fish . “ no ! i just missed the part where this turned into an intervention . ” he speaks dryly .

@ofneighborhoods he slightly raises his eyebrows and keeps eating as if nothing had happened. steve shrugs. “ you got something you’re hidin’ ? ”

@HonorsLiberty he freezes , pizza still decidedly in his mouth , hands hovering over the box . big brown eyes shoot across the countertop . “ wha —— when did this become about me 𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 ? ? ”

@ofneighborhoods “ and pizza wouldn’t be the best option for a first date, either. ” as if he were an expert on first dates, especially those /not/ initiated by bucky. steve wipes the corner of his mouth with a napkin and asks, “ have you been on one before? ”

@HonorsLiberty — anyway . ”

yeah, it’s like a reverse oasis. a place with nothing to drink.

@ofneighborhoods date chewing so visibly. ”

@ofneighborhoods steve eats easier with his advice duly heeded. “ it does, but it’s still not as potent as yours. besides, high metabolism or not, manners are manners. ” he picks away another nibble then finishes chewing before adding. “ not to mention, no girl wants to see her —

@ofneighborhoods “ i’m not shaming you, i’m sorry. you just need to slow down, and digest well. ” only halfway through his first slice, he takes another bite and grabs a water. “ i know your hunger’s not your doing, anyhow. ”

@HonorsLiberty his resulting pout pushes his bottom lip out , a string of cheese pasted to the corner . “ don’t shame me for eating fast . i’m ℎ𝑢𝑛𝑔𝑟𝑦 . ”

@sovietshadows steve was a man who lived by his word. to some degree, he expected the same of others. so, he brings digits to her jaw and coaxes her to return his stare. “ you’re not gettin’ your way outta this one. look at me. ”
