Bonus Hollander POTD Slick Watts. Undrafted PG from Xavier LA made SEA in 73 as hustler. Led NBA w/8.1 apg & 3.2 spg in 75-76. Unique player who wore crooked headbands & shaved his dome before it was a thing. After brief peak, was out of NBA by 79 (age 27). RIP Slick.

Bonus Hollander POTD Mike Brown. George Washington PF/C was drafted 69th in 85 by CHI. After a year in Italy & 2 in CHI, spent 88-93 in UTA backing up Karl Malone. Peaked at 7.7 ppg in 91-92. Also played w/MIN, PHI & PHO thru 97. Per bio: "he'd be 7-footer if he had a neck."

Dave Henderson, rest his soul, was born OTD in 1958. Hendu did his finest work in Oakland, earning MVP votes twice, making the All-Star team, and winning a World Series in 1989. He batted .324/.410/.606 (1.015 OPS) in World Series play for his career (20 games, 83 PA) 🤯

Nominated by Don August Not enough people talk about Dave Henderson: • 27.6 WAR, 1991 All-Star, 1989 WS Champion • 1324 hits, 197 HR, 708 RBI, hit 20+ HR 4x • Career .298/.376/.570 (.946 OPS) hitter in the postseason (36 games across 8 series) • Career .324/.410/.606 (1.015 OPS) in the World Series (20 games across 4 series, including Oakland's 1989 sweep of the San Francisco Giants) • Ranks highly in all-time defensive metrics among CF, including 24th in range factor per 9 innings, 34th in total zone runs, 68th in double plays turned from CF, 70th in games played, and 77th in CF assists Despite being a defensive stalwart at a premium position and one of the finest postseason hitters of his era, Hendu received just 0.4% of the vote on his only HOF ballot appearance in 2000. He passed away in 2015 at the far-too-young age of 57. Dave Henderson batted .421/.500/.789 (1.289 OPS) with zero strikeouts against Don August over 22 PA between 1988 and 1991.

Hollander POTD Ray Allen. UConn star was drafted 5th by MIN & traded to MIL. An incredible shooter/scorer had 21.8+ ppg 8 yrs in a row, peak of 26.4 in 06-07 w/SEA. Traded to BOS in 07-08 & was key to title there and MIA. His shot in 2013 Finals saved LBJ. HOFer.

In 05-06, Gonzaga went 29-4 and Morrison scored 28 ppg. The only other pro was Jeremy Pargo (who didn't play much). JP Batista was solid at C too. They lost a tough Sweet 16 game where Morrison famously collapsed in despair.
