Thankful that I’ve had a stable gig in sports that I will get to devote more time and energy into. Grateful that it’s also a release away from the noise and turmoil over the raid. I have no news to share, but my situation is stable and I’m counting my blessings. Thank you all.

@ByJonWalker I think inevitably it will happen for at least final week. The Pelicans gave their unprotected first to Atlanta. Dejounte coming off of achilles injury, and I think they’re invested enough in their core they need those guys to play to figure out what the path forward is for NO.

I have read Search and Seizure Warrant against The Lodge in full, and it does appear to be a witch hunt. Essentially, they're deeming poker in TX illegal and therefore classifying what we'd consider normal banking transactions as money laundering because it's proceeds from what they say is illegal gambling. All the undercover operations outlined in the affidavit describe a normally functioning, well-run poker room. To me, nothing in it suggests what we in the poker world would consider scandalous/nefarious, but rather authorities simply taking a stance on the grey area/loophole that they consider illegal. We know our loyal staff, members, and followers have been anxiously waiting for an update regarding the recent events that led to the closure of the club. We recognize that the closure has had a serious impact for many. More than 200 staff members rely on The Lodge for their livelihoods, and many of our members have funds tied up in chips or pending tournament payouts. We understand the concern and frustration and we want everyone to know that it is not being taken lightly. As much as we would like to provide a detailed update, we are unable to do so at this time because, despite our legal team’s best efforts to obtain additional information from the authorities, very little information has been made available. What we do know is that no charges have been filed, and we remain committed to cooperating fully so that any concerns can be addressed. At the same time, we can confirm that all of the club’s assets and bank accounts have been frozen. In addition, we have been told not to re-open until the investigation concludes. The Lodge has always taken its obligation to operate lawfully very seriously. The leadership team is committed to ensuring that The Lodge operates transparently, responsibly, and in good faith within Texas law by emphasizing strengthened oversight and continued improvement of operations. Unfortunately, we do not know how long this process will take or when we will be allowed to operate again. We obviously believe that the longer our doors remain closed, the greater the impact becomes — not just on the business itself, but on the hundreds of staff members, vendors, partners, and community members who rely on The Lodge every day. Your continued support of The Lodge — its traditions, its staff, and the community that exists inside these walls — means the world to us. We are upset and frustrated by the disruption this has caused and remain hopeful that we will be able to work constructively and with the authorities in a very timely manner so that we can move forward and reopen our doors. All we can do at the moment is to promise to share more information as soon as we are able. In the meantime, if The Lodge has meant something to you — as a place to play, work, or build friendships — we encourage you to share your support in the comments. Hearing from this community means more to our staff and leadership team than we can put into words.

Made my last DoorDash today to the 3rd floor of an apartment complex to drop off tequila. On way back to my car, 2 young kids were on roller skates and one little guy was trying to haul his tricycle down. He asked if I could help him, and I said “yeahhh! I got you little guy!” And as I walked down after about 7 hours of driving all over Austin tonight, I had thought to have the capacity for empathy and kindness even when it’s not your day. I won’t say I’ve always been good at that, but he was a cool kid and said please and thank you. Got back to my car, sat down, and reflected for a moment of how difficult all of this has been; and received a notification of a very kind individual who showed empathy. We are a good bunch at the Lodge and throughout the Austin Poker scene; and we all want to get back to what we know and love and we hope for the best moving forward.

@GodMode248 @HoopsMike amen. the dealers should have over 100k in savings by now, theyre getting over 500 a day in tips. the only people to feel sorry for are those who had to fly out without cashing out their chips, and those who used their safe deposit boxes as their bank accounts they cant access.
