I just don’t think any player from this past season, besides Wilkerson, could command $3m+ and that’s why this is concerning and it’s a continuation of the trend of only DDV’s son coming from WVU

Guys will leave for big money. And knowing he’ll be THE guy to showcase for the NBA. But a coach with good relationship capital can hold on to players who will take $500k less to play for him… and there are a lot more of those guys on a roster than the $3-5m guy

Recruiting and retaining players has become as important as the Xs & Os If you can’t recruit and can’t develop relationships - based on something other than $ - then you’re stuck in this endless loop of filling 90% of your roster each offseason

Dusty May did himself no favors to instill confidence in the IU administration by getting bounced in the 1st round by Chris Collins & Northwestern the next year In the moment, it was hardly different than Archie’s miraculous E8
