Today, I addressed @uetcl’s 17th Annual General Meeting for FY 2024/2025. The results are encouraging. UETCL recorded a 9.3% increase in revenue from energy sales, reaching UGX 1,672.8 billion, alongside an 11.8% growth in electricity sales volumes to 6,745.08 GWh, and maximum system demand growing to 1,202.9 MW. These figures reflect not just corporate performance, but real momentum in Uganda’s energy infrastructure. A reliable, expanding transmission network is the backbone of our industrialisation agenda and our commitment to universal access to electricity. I commend the UETCL Board, under the leadership of Chair Kwame Ejalu, and the entire senior management team for their continued focus and discipline. We are building the Uganda we want, one megawatt at a time.

We thank God for the successful Board of Trustees (Bishops) meeting held today at the Provincial Secretariat of @ChurchofUganda_ in Namirembe. When Bishops meet to deliberate on business and sustainability of the Church, they constitute the Board of Trustees. When they convene to address matters of doctrine, faith, and order, they sit as the House of Bishops. The meeting was chaired by @Archbp_COU, assisted by the Dean of the Province, Rt Rev Assoc. Prof. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa; the Provincial Chancellor, Canon @NabothMuhairwe and the Provincial Secretary, Rev Canon William Ongeng. Church Commissioners Holding Company Ltd (CCHCL) conducts business on behalf of the Trustees. It is currently chaired by Retired Bishop Eng. George Bagamuhunda, with Rev. Dr. Jasper Mpiriirwe Tumuhimbise @jaspermt as the Group Chief Executive Officer. Today’s meeting focused specifically on the business affairs of the Church of Uganda. Among the key matters discussed were: 1. The proposed pension scheme for Bishops and Church ministers. 2. Partnership between Church of Uganda and @SpiroUganda to promote e-mobility through ease of access to electric-powered motorcycles and charging stations across the Province. 3. The status of Janani Luwum Church House, currently at 86% occupancy. 4. Progress on land registration following the rollout of the Land Information System and a mass registration campaign to title all Church land across the country. 5. Church of Uganda’s partnership with Hamilton and its subsidiary @Paxtel_mobile, building on earlier engagements in Hoima City and subsequent discussions with Trustees in Abuja, Nigeria, aimed at building a unified communication channel across the Province. 6. Progress on Church of Uganda Industrial Park, which is set to be inaugurated soon and will begin manufacturing products such as toilet paper and scholastic materials for schools and other institutions. 7. The status quo of the Pastors Children Network, an association of Children of Clergy, Bishops and Lay Readers currently chaired by Ord. Shem Kimera who made the presentation. All these initiatives are aligned with Church of Uganda’s vision of becoming a faster growing, sustainable, Christ-centered Church.

NELSON BYARUHANGA is the proprietor of Praise Hot Pot, a restaurant in North Kigezi Diocese, Rukungiri District, well known for preparing African delicacies and providing outside catering services. About two years ago, during a Diocesan Prayer and Fasting Day, when Bishop @AsiimweOnesimus was preaching, Nelson gave his life to Jesus Christ. From that moment, his life and business began to change. His business grew significantly, enabling him to travel to China and other countries, and he witnessed remarkable progress. In gratitude to God, Nelson made a promise to give back. As a sign of thanksgiving, he offered to provide food for everyone attending the celebrations marking the 3rd Anniversary of the Episcopal Ministry of Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe. When the Archbishop arrived for the farewell and thanksgiving celebrations on Friday evening, Nelson prepared and served a sumptuous dinner for more than 200 guests at the Bishop's residence. He also provided lunch at St. Paul’s Kasoroza, Nyakagyeme @ChurchofUganda_, where over 1,000 people were served lunch on Saturday. The same generous hospitality continued on Sunday at Emmanuel Cathedral, Kinyasano. In addition, Nelson provided all the tents and decorations for the weekend’s functions, entirely at his own cost. Indeed, God has the power to transform lives for the better. And when He does, it is right to return thanks. As Archbishop Kaziimba @Archbp_COU often says: "God has a tendency of picking a nobody to become somebody in front of everybody without consulting anybody." May God continue to bless Nelson and the work of his hands. 🙏 Numbers 6:24–26.

I learned that a country which is part of #GAFCON does not have any female Bishops, as they have not approved it, which is why Kenya has Women Bishops because is not a member.
DARIUS NSHABOMWE@DariusNshabomwe

In the current ongoing GAFCON 2026 Abuja Nigeria, out of close to 500 Anglican Bishops, there is no woman Bishop! Anglican Church please maintain that medieval tradition of male primogenitures. @Archbp_COU @coufamilytv @Bernardkwiri Every Blessing Darius R

I wish to reassure all Ugandans that our fuel supply remains stable despite the recent developments in the Middle East. Together with the @UNOC_UG and our supply partner Vitol, we are closely monitoring the situation and have put in place contingency measures to ensure uninterrupted deliveries. Scheduled cargoes for March 2026 remain on course, and we expect pump prices to remain relatively stable. Ugandans should remain calm. Government remains fully committed to safeguarding national energy security and ensuring a reliable supply of petroleum products across the country.
