It was hot as balls on this date in 1990 in a place called Foxboro, MA. I had seen JGB with Weir & Wasserman the previous fall at Great Woods but this was my first Grateful Dead show. What a time. I think every cop in New England was there, too.

@RT_com What happened to RT?
I used to appreciate your reporting, but now it seems like everything you say is negative and misleading.

@AnyaManifested I won’t be surprised.
There is always a camera facing you and analyzing your facial expressions.

“When it comes time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way—Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.”

Talkin' 'bout, Hey now! 🌈
Right before JFK Stadium was condemned and shut down for structural decay, the Grateful Dead took it around for one last spin on this day in 1989. Just hours before the show, inspectors had reportedly found piles of combustible materials and endless electrical problems. Nonetheless, the love of jamming propelled the show forward and closed out with an ironic “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.”
You can find this performance of “Iko Iko” in 'Crimson, White, and Indigo,’ captured at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia on 07/07/89, on the Grateful Dead YouTube channel.
