@seeairuhm Nice trip down the gaming rainbow road. Crash Bandicoot. Medievil. Donkey Kong Country. Super Meat Boy. (Lol). Sly Cooper....

Maybe a bit reminiscent of Crash bandicoot but my memory is fuzzy

Work phone has been turned in, outlook and DWAN have been D dashed, now all that's left is packing and waiting. Looking forward to some family and friends time over the next week as a send off. 12 days out. #CanMilTwitter

Hey #CanMilTwitter - what am I forgetting to pack? What's one thing you wish you had brought with you on deployment?

@Horsmanicus @TrevorJain You definitely want a stash of Canada/CAF adjacent memorabilia to trade or gift to friends and colleagues from other countries. Canned maple syrup is a good gift, but a small pile of these or something similar are also handy:

26 days from now I'll be sitting in an airport awaiting a flight to Germany with 7 months worth of gear packed in 4 bags. Really starting to feel that odd mix of excitement and anxiety as it fast approaches. So many things to try and finish before I go.

@cdnnavylady @RCRBuck @MidOfficer Many of the topics we want to discuss are truly contentious. It's difficult to find the balance between engaging with meaningful discussion vs. holding back for fear of getting into some kind of viral social media debate.

A little late on this one but wondering what advice #CanMilTwitter would give to encourage more CAF members to join us here? I was surprised to learn about the reticence to engage here from the young officers on the Army Ops course last week. Can’t stop thinking about this 🤔

@seeairuhm What's the gym situation at the Kaserne? Functional fitness/CrossFit type space? Food situation on base for lunch? If you don't mind a DM shoot me a follow and I'll take my random fitness and lifestyle questions there.

Having now lived in Europe for nearly a year, I can confidently say that it’s not the food that’s different - it’s the 25,000 steps you take a day on vacation and smaller portions you’re likely consuming

@seeairuhm 6 AM? Great. Hiking? Sign me up. 7 excursions planned in 3 days? Nah dude 😂 I draw the line at being scheduled so tight that there is no room to seize cool opportunities.

@LT__Media @SportsCenter Game really mattered. If they list they would have been in the play-in rather than 6 seed. Lakers had the tiebreak between them.

@jsmacd Which is a small win - but even if they work 40 years they will be stuck at (in one case) a 38% pension. All that to say, I think your idea of being able to drop your worst years from the buyback and you earn better ones has merit and would absolutely help with retention

@Horsmanicus Pat. You can get to immediate annuity though. As soon as you hit 35 Pensionable years even if you aren’t at 25. Tell them

I CT’d from the PRes in 2014. I did a pension buy back and reached 35 years of Pensionable Service in 2021. At that time I was only at a 25 year pension (PT years counted in #1 as full years but in#2 as PT) Why can’t I trade PT year for FT year now so I’m incentivized to stay?
