🚧 Temporary Trail Closure 🚧 Pedestrian & Cyclist please be aware, a section of the MKT Trail (south of Lawrence Park from 7th St. to Nicholson) is temporarily closed through April 30th for a sanitary line installation. The trail is expected to reopen on Friday, May 1st.

“The rights of the people of our great city are not for sale,” said Council Member Abbie Kamin. Standing firm for constitutional protections for all Houstonians, the Council Member voted no on the Abbott Amendment the Governor bullied the city into.

While Council Member Kamin will continue sounding the alarm for stronger disaster preparedness in the budgeting process, today marks a major step forward in Houston’s readiness.

Disasters don’t wait. Council Member Kamin’s amendment to keep Houston prepared for natural disasters passes! This will increase the City’s Rainy Day Fund to $25M and ensure timely replenishment.

Council Member Kamin stopped in for the @AapolH monthly meeting to thank our frontline officers, and the Mental Health Division for their service, celebrating Officer of the Month recipient Lt. Dennis Tabora for his outstanding service.

CM Kamin is partnering with @HCPrecinct4 to fund a feasibility study for a trail along Renwick Dr (Darnell St to N Braeswood) to explore improvements for connectivity, drainage, & more! Thank you to Neighborhoods to Trails Southwest for working with #DistC to submit the project.

CM Kamin is partnering with @HPARD & @SPARK_Houston to protect families from the Houston heat with a new shade structure at the Sinclair playground. She is dedicating $10K in #DistC funds to support @SinclairPTO's efforts to make the space safer for students and families.☀️🌳

CM Kamin honored the history & legacy of @AntiochDowntown this afternoon at their 160th anniversary celebration. Congrats to Pastor Lou & First Lady McElroy for their leadership through this historic milestone. We thank Antioch for its continued partnership + impact in our city.
