American families are struggling under the GOP cost-of-living crisis—but Republicans refuse to do anything to lower costs for the people. Instead, they want to give an unaccountable ICE more money to antagonize the public. I think that funding should go toward lowering costs for families.

Republicans let the ACA tax credits expire, and now Americans are struggling to afford healthcare. Americans are limiting their healthcare coverage or forgoing it altogether.  No one should have to go without healthcare.

Americans are hurting because of Donald Trump and Republicans.  Their reckless policy decisions are leaving Americans behind and forcing them to pay more for less.  House Democrats won’t stop fighting to put an end to their insanity.

The House just passed Democrats’ bill to reopen the Department of Homeland Security. Republicans could have passed this bill months ago. But instead, they chose to hold DHS hostage for nearly 80 days. Democrats were always on the side of the American people.

States will be forced to kick thousands of Americans off SNAP because Republicans refuse to undo their $187 billion cut to the program. Republicans are literally signing off on children, seniors and veterans going hungry.

House Republicans just passed a budget bill that does NOTHING to lower costs. Instead, it hands $70 billion more to ICE and CBP — while TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard remain shut down. The GOP continues to choose terror and cruelty over the American people.

Republicans are giving ICE and Border Patrol another $70 billion on top of the $140 billion from their Big Ugly Law. Yet they can’t find a dime to bring down the cost of Americans’ heathcare, gas or groceries. Shameful.

I voted NO on the Republican Budget Resolution because it does nothing to lower costs for families.   Instead, it hands billions to ICE and CBP with no accountability—while failing to fund critical agencies, like TSA and FEMA. Writing another massive check to ICE and CBP without meaningful reforms or oversight will not make our communities safer.   Instead of working with Democrats on a real solution, Republicans are supercharging an out-of-control immigration enforcement agenda that spreads fear in our communities — while ignoring the cost-of-living crisis their policies helped create.

Republicans continue to fail the American people over and over. Their budget bill will not lower Americans’ costs. Instead, they’re CHOOSING to give $70 billion to an out-of-control ICE that puts Americans in danger.

Tonight, Congressional Republicans put forward a budget resolution that will give $70 billion to ICE and CBP with no reform to these agencies at all. House Democrats have been pushing to ensure TSA agents, Coast Guard servicemembers, and FEMA personnel get paid — but Congressional Republicans continue to sidestep our bipartisan solutions and instead advance more funding for Trump’s deadly mass deportation agenda.

Republicans will do anything but lower costs for Americans. Instead, Republicans are giving even more money to a lawless ICE, waging reckless wars, giving tax breaks to billionaires, and raising our national debt.
