A flat roof has a tendency to leak, no matter how well it is installed.

Proposed 4-bedroom maisonette designed for a sloping site in Ngong. The split-level approach works with the natural terrain, creating better spatial flow, natural lighting, and views while reducing excessive excavation.

Designing with the slope instead of fighting against it. Good architecture doesn’t force the land to change. It studies the terrain, works with levels, improves drainage, reduces excavation costs and creates better spatial experiences. The site gives direction, the design just listens.

Clerestory windows, set high above eye level to bring natural daylight into the interior spaces of the house from above. We used them in this project to allow the corridor to remain naturally lit throughout the day, and ensure the living room retains a soft, even glow throughout the day.
