@LqHtown32 @_mundowrld Very unique and intriguing player. Not quite as explosive as Amen, but the quickness is there when he wants to use it. I see elite feel for the game. And that tends to translate at the pro level, particularly with his size and athletic ability. The jumper will decide his fate.

@SleeperRockets @JakeLFischer Trey Murphy is this year’s Desmond Bane. That trade makes you this year’s Magic. Maybe you get better, but do you really move the needle? It’s a REALLY good player, who just isn’t worth the price tag. For whatever reason, teams seem to be wising up to the value of FRPs.

@AyooTexanNation Truth is, the defense wasn’t spectacular against Maye either though. We were outcoached pretty badly. They had answers, we didn’t.

@gocelticsgo07 More skilled, sure. But PG misses half his teams’ games. Literally 6 of the last 7 years he’s missed almost half of the games. He’s also knocking on the door of retirement. JB has a lot of tread left and averaged 11 more ppg last yr. That’s hard to replace. This is cope.

Welp, there it is folks. Marcus Smart is a Rocket. I’m going to look at the positive. We have our tone setter back. I didn’t want Dillon Brooks either and I turned out to have a ton of respect for him. He was a bigger loss than people realize. Smart is that kind of player.

It’s this simple guys. Add players that will make you pay for doubling Durant or Alpy. The shooting tool is a cheat code. You can bring in shooters cheap, and they just sit in a corner, create space, and give you no answers when defending their stars.

@jfr3shco Oh he definitely improved, I’m js he was good in college, so you knew the results were there at one time. He didn’t need an overhaul. I think w/ Lonzo, it was more about learning to get his shot off in rhythm in the pros vs college. Speed was different and he has a goofy tempo.

Rockets fans and the FO calling Amen untouchable, consider this. I just saw a reel of Ben Simmons pop up on my TL and it was startling how much it resembled Amen. I honestly can’t think of a better comp. And Ben’s peak was better than anything Amen’s done so far. Kinda scary.

@jfr3shco Lonzo’s mechanics were never broken. He shot 41% from 3 in college. Yeah it looks funky but if it works, roll with it. Problem with Amen. It looks funky and it doesn’t work. And he’s not changing it. He’s just repeating it and looking for different results.

@jfr3shco Wow, I have hope I guess, but full faith? He’s given us a 3 year sample size, and %s didn’t improve with more volume. That’s not very promising IMO.

@jfr3shco I would trade him. It’s not about current value, it’s about future value. I don’t see Amen developing the jumper, and without it, I’m out. It’s that simple. Use his value to add a difference maker that solves some of our offensive problems. Ime will take care of the defense.

@HoustonAggie17 Let me ask you something, what was changes did Ben’s game go through from season 1 to his last season on Philly? Since his first season people been saying “if he could develop a jumpshot…” And yet his game never changed. Can you blame confidence? Sure but it’s also desire.

@jfr3shco That is my exact question about Amen. We’re in year 3 and the jumpshot has improved zero. Honestly the ball handling is about the same too. I’m sorry, but without those tools at the position he plays, he will never be regarded more highly than he is at this very moment.

@MuseBaker Brother, the Texans have had Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins walk through their doors. Both undisputed top 3 at their position in their respective eras. I’m an Aggie and Mike is one of my favorite players ever. But he isn’t in the same stratosphere as Dre or Hop.

@HoustonAggie17 Ben wasn’t a 100% confident issue, it was he didn’t have work ethic. Once he got his big paycheck he stop trying, team adjusted and started fouling him. With Amen at least attempting the shots already put him in my eye way farther than Ben. He wouldn’t attempt them at all.
