This afternoon, we gathered to honor Officer Alberto Vasquez, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty 25 years ago on 05/22/01. The Vasquez family hosted a 25-year remembrance in his honor, and we were grateful to stand with them and celebrate his life and service.

On May 14, HPD Narcotics, DPS, DEA, and HCSO arrested a wanted suspect. Investigators recovered 38 kilos of meth, 7 handguns, and 1 rifle. Report illegal drug activity: 713-466-3673

HPD Major Offenders Environmental Investigations, @HoustonFire Hazmat, @TCEQ & @HouPublicWorks led an investigation at Quality Electric Steel Castings which resulted in felony charges. HPD & the City of Houston are holding businesses accountable for polluting our city & water.

Community Engagement: HPD officers continued building relationships across Houston through events like Coffee with a Cop at Target & the YPAC end-of-year celebration. HPD also appreciates Dunkin Donuts for stopping by headquarters to provide donuts and show support for officers.

During National Police Week in Washington, D.C., HPD’s Solo Motorcycle Detail assisted with escorts for surviving family members & supported special tasks throughout the week. HPD is honored to stand alongside agencies from across the country paying tribute to our fallen heroes.

Southwest Patrol and CST have two robbery suspects in custody. Suspects robbed a lawn crew at gunpoint. Suspects ran on foot and were located by a drone used by Patrol Support. Assist by K9 and Fox. 202
