Problems with your landlord? Beginning next week, Houston Tenants Union will host weekly tenant meetings where renters from across the city can come together to discuss the issues impacting us and our communities—and how we can organize together to fight back against exploitation

Popular education went off this month! 😤 We learned that one of the first steps to building collective power against ICE and a strong tenants union in our city overlap: introducing yourself to your neighbors!

Included is also the list of warming centers provided by the city of Houston. We’ll be back to our regular meetings next week! Join us for collective casework where we can discuss the issues tenants are having post winter storm and how we can organize to improve our conditions.

It’s a reminder of the fragile position our housing is constantly in. When landlords don’t invest in proper repairs and renovations, we are the ones left to freeze in our homes with solutions that come out of our pockets. This is by design.

2026 is here and the fight for dignified housing continues! EVERY MONDAY, HTU meets to share a dinner and discuss how to organize ourselves in defense of our homes and communities. Only together can we face our abusive landlords and weave networks of support and solidarity.
