This is the kind of stuff that really turns ppl off, this is gross. Its appropriate that the US men's team share their revenue. It puts their money where their mouth is w/r to the concept of "equal pay", and the men are all professional soccer players somewhere in the soccer verse and likely aren't hurting for cash. And yes its true that the USWNT has had more success at the World Cup than the USMNT. But its also true that the competetive field is vastly different. Its also true at the last WC, the women finished in the exact same spot as the men, losing in the round of 16. And most importantly, its true that the economics of sport dont pay teams for "winning" they pay them for how many ppl watch. And so yes, by the economics of sport and market value, the men SHOULD be paid more. But at the end of the day, the men agreed to this revenue structure. They didnt have to, they chose it, knowing it would be a bad deal for them (purely on the economic side). The US is also the only national team in the WORLD to have instituted such an egalitarian revenue share. None of the "woke" Western progressive countries have it. And what is their reward for doing this good and honorable thing? Ridicule and hate. The vast majority of comments on this are either from the manospere angry at this split (which is dumb, b/c it wasnt forced on them, the men agreed to it) or the femisphere shitting on the men, comments like "the women deserve it all" or "the men suck" are the norm. That they're "losers who got knocked out early " (despite the women finishing in the exact same place). This cucked simp Adam Zygillis is speaking for the femisphere here. I dont think I've seen one comment from the femisphere bragging up their men, proud that they live in a country where this kind of equal pay is a reality and not some virtue signalled progressive talking point. I dont think the men need to be lauded as heros for doing the right thing, but to shit on them for it? When they're the ONLY country to do it? Its shit like this that provides fodder for the arguement that the true nature of feminism isnt really advocating for equality but in tearing down men. I dont believe that, but stuff like this makes it harder to ignore that ther might in fact be something to it.
