This back and forth on Blue vs Red RW is interesting, but it's also frustrating because many seem to get caught up in the text of the argument and not the implications. The principals involved here almost certainly know this, but all arguments on X are effectively swarm vs swarm, so the particular knowledge of any party is irrelevant to the gestalt knowledge of the swarm. This is my attempt to raise that level. ~The Archetypes~ First, the preconditions: 1. "Red" here indicates the type of RW person produced by an intact and locally hegemonic American culture, while "Blue" indicates the type of RW person produced by a degraded or besieged American culture. 2. Because of this, Blues can emerge in Red States (especially in urban areas) where locally dominated by the progressive monoculture or by hostile diversity or through exposure to Blue memes online conveying the threat level. Simultaneously, Reds can emerge where a locally hegemonic and intact American culture exists, even within a hostile environment. This is most reliably produced by strong church and kin structures. Additionally, there are occasionally sporadic and temperamental Blues and Reds which emerge despite a completely alien environment. However, as a rule: Blue structures produce Blue RWs and Red structures produce Red RWs.

Confronted with this, you have three options: 1. Protest about it 2. Seize power, stop the abuse, punish the thieves, and restore order 3. Tit for tat, loot the enemy tax base and give it to your friends Option 1 is a loser. You will be pillaged by your enemy. Option 2 is the best but requires overwhelming power and will to use it. Option 3 is the middle ground that moves us towards Option 2 by imposing costs on those who are currently looting with abandon and simultaneously building the willpower capacity towards Option 2.

At a certain point, it's not fraud, but the primary means of economic activity within a post-industrial "economy". The government farms the tax base and directs the proceeds to its friends.

Wow the Handmaid's Tale. Only a global bestseller that literally is openly available everywhere, and has a very popular TV show, and is only banned in a handful of School Libraries for not being appropriate for School?

In "the old days", mid cities only had a single crappy cab company. But it's mostly the lack of everyday third places.

The helicopter thing is a very good illustration about how much of the Right is no longer conservative. The sentiment of "why should soldiers have to follow the rules if the rules are lame?" is a very, very strong repudiation of conservatism.

@McCarthyist2 He was in it for love of the game. Most of the neocons are in it for corruption or borderline treasonous allegiances to foreign nations. Lindsey really believed that the neocon position, with all of its insane baggage, was the right way to do it. That counts for something.

Lindsey Graham was one of the few true neocons. He wasn’t in politics to be a corrupt, power hungry money grabber, but because he genuinely believed everything he preached. He truly believed we should bomb our enemies out of existence, and I respect him greatly for that.

@HighRiskAsset @ThomBrady5 He may very well be replaced by someone less effective, less sane, or more opposed. Graham wasn't my guy for foreign policy, but he moved the ball on our domestic stuff (especially post 2020) in a way most leadership wouldn't. Don't attack fallen allies or you'll get less.

@ThomBrady5 I'm all for seeing things in shades of grey. On the scale, Lindsay was like 20% our guy, 80% enemy. I'm glad we could make some use of him since we had to put up with him. Always best to make a deal. Still, any replacement will likely be better.

We gotta reward our hitters. RW people need to know when they die they will be remembered fondly. Lindsey may have been corrupt but he was our corrupt guy. We aren't going to let Leftists take a victory lap and piss on his grave. Then other elites won't want to advocate for us.

A little more discernment is needed here. Rubio and Graham both moved our way - likely not from first principles but from pragmatism. Graham's foreign policy was not my thing, but he was good at moving balls in the Senate (especially relative to others). Rubio is doing well executing the vision of others. Would I want either running the show? No. But respect for allies even when they aren't friends, especially if they're honorable about it.

@VDAREJamesK Graham didn't improve as much as Rubio, but both "got the message" after 2016/2018. His foreign policy wasn't my cup of tea, but he moved the ball domestically for our stuff even when he wasn't aligned. The guy loved the game (and bombing other countries).

For oldheads who remember the amnesty battles, the arch fiend was always Graham.

Lindsey Graham parents died young he has a baby sister instead of letting the STATE assume responsibility he raised her. The Disney World pics everyone was making fun of were her and her grandkids, I believe. Graham went out of his way to protect his sister from his public office life.
