My first YouTube videos got maybe 40 views. I kept going. Week after week. I hoped it would be useful for more than 40 people. 6.5 years later, my YouTube channel will soon reach 1M subscribers. Shocking. However, contrary to the popular belief, it was unfortunately not a one viral video that got it there🤣 It was countless ideas (some better than others), hours of recordings and days of editing. Here a picture of me explaining Power BI DAX with avocados 5years ago 🙌 Find it if you can, haha 😂 #powerbi #youtube #career #milestone #dax

Visual conditional visibility in Power BI 📊 Allows you to dynamically show or hide visuals based on user selections. A simple, subtle way to guide users through your report - step by step. Sometimes also a requirement, based on how the data is structured. Potentially a strong UX improvement in many of the Power BI reports I see 🤩 This example: Team performance marketing report ✌🏻 Follow the link in comments for a full walkthrough on how to build it #powerbi #data #analytics #dashboard #marketing

Here's an idea I (and my Clients) love that way too few people use in their Power BI reports: What-if parameters. Someone always wants to know "what if we raised the price five percent" or "what if churn dropped by two points." And normally that means they email you, you go build a version, or ad-hoc analysis in Excel, you send it back a day later. Pretty horrible experience for both sides. If it is something they decide on or analyze often, I recommend adding it directly in the Power BI Reports, especially for the senior, top level executives. They always wonder what-if.... Pretty sure they will appreciate it, notice how you helped make their life easier and stop needing you for every little scenario. Follow along if you want to see more tips on developing analytical reports for C-Level execs #powerbi #report #tip #clevel #recommendation #design #ux
