Happy 76th Birthday to Ken Griffey Sr! He was a fine player who made several All-Star teams and compiled more than 2,000 hits. He was a key contributor to the @Reds back to back World Championships in 1975 and 1976! @sigg20 @AndyFurmanFSR @johnsadak

Phil Niekro born OTD in 1939. He won over 300 games throwing a knuckleball! It was Bob Uecker, his catcher with @Braves who instilled confidence in Phil to throw the knuckleball! The rest is history! @sigg20 @AndyFurmanFSR

Lou Holtz has passed away at age 89. He was a great College Football Coach..his record speaks for itself. He was an entertaining broadcaster & he said about working on television, "TV is a medium where you keep talking until you think of something to say!" @sigg20 @AndyFurmanFSR

Elston Howard born OTD in 1929. He was a great man & a great @Yankees & was the first African American to play for the Yankees & the first African American to win the American League MVP Award! 1963. He played on 9 Yankee Pennant Winners & 1 with @RedSox @sigg20 @AndyFurmanFSR

Clete Boyer born OTD in 1937. He was an outstanding third baseman! He played shallow and used his chest as a fielding tool! He also had a great arm! He was a key contributor to the @Yankees five straight Pennants from 1960-64! @sigg20 @AndyFurmanFSR
