@Scidian If the individual has a history of opposing the negative beliefs common in their groups, then that should overide any bias towards them. But if you lack that evidence, you should at least be cautious imo.

Libertarian infighting is bad, causes a lot of blockings on Twitter. In the USSR Stalin ordered mass killings of Trotskyists. In the Spanish civil war Soviet backed communists were killing syndicalists. The Red Guards killed communists of other factions as ordered by Mao. Pol Pot executed every communist who was found to be non-Maoist. After being allied in the Bolshevik revolution the red army switched up on Ukrainian fakearchist-communists and executed them. Trotsky was assassinated in Mexico at Stalin's order.

A lot of homophobia falls under this. Many of the attacks made against homosexuals are actually just against gay men. Anal sex is an example. Commonly practised by gay men, rarely by lesbians, yet used as a vector of attack ("it's disgusting" and "unnatural"). There is a hole in our conception of masculinity as to allow this.
