This belter is still in the Funzie area, hopefully it will be leaving soon for its breeding grounds. The American Wigeon continued its stay, on Papil Water today.

50 years ago today I found a Killdeer at East Boldon, Tyne and Wear. I know a lot of people who saw this bird have passed away and I wonder how many are still around. Perhaps someone even has a photo?
First day in Japan. Took the bullet train from Tokyo to Karuizawa and birded around there this afternoon. Not a lot of species, but a few nice birds. Japanese Waxwing, Japanese Green Woodpecker, Japanese Accentor and Falcated Duck.
I've had a relapse of my long standing illness. Been in hospital 9 days so far & over the worst although it was another near miss. Told its going to be a very long & slow recovery this time so might not be out & about for some time. Cheers everyone
Tomorrow 31st January marks the 40th anniversary of the legendary Saltburn Ivory Gull. It stayed until Feb 8th and became one of Cleveland’s most twitched birds ever! I’ve kept these clippings for 40 years in the vain hope I can one day say Ivory Gull Unblocked at…@teesbirds1
