When we were growing up, we made plans with our friends. We wanted to be successful and we wanted our friends to be successful as well. But the reality is that our clock is different. We would not all be successful and even the ones that are successful, succeed at different times. The beauty of friendship is that, if one of us succeed, we have a measure of protection to leverage on. I do not know what you people call friendship but a person that want friends must show himself friendly, and there are friends closer than a brother. This idea of making it and suddenly blacklisting the people you used to call friends, is insane. If they were not good people, you would have cut them off before you made it. The only person changing here is you. It would be a shame if my friends need help and they can't ask me. Why am I in their lives then? What is the point of being friends for 10, 15, 20 years and I can't come through for you. I come through for strangers. Why wouldn't I show up for my own? My friends know me and they trust me. In fact, I'm sure they know that God forbid they die, their kids education and welfare will be sorted as I would my own kids. Making new friends is good. We connect and expand on the relationships we have as we grow in life. If you keep cutting off the people you used to know as soon as you climb up the ladder, why should the new friends and connections trust you? The higher you climb, the harder it is to trust. That is why people say it is lonely at the top. People are not stupid, they are vetting your character whether you know it or not. I have friends I made from secondary school. I have close friends from university who are my brothers. I have friends from my time in the UK and we are very close. I've made friends from X whom I am close with. Current relationship does not erase past relationship. Your new friends have other friends. There is nothing happening in your life currently that warrants cutting off your friends just because you're doing better. If you're doing better, you have a responsibility to look after them and be kind to them. Your friends are the only people in this cold world who allow you to be yours and who can call you to order, while still having your back against all odds. DO BETTER!!!

This morning, I went to refill my gas cylinder. It’s a new one—6kg. When it got to my turn, the sales girl released the air in the empty cylinder and asked how many kg I wanted. I told her to fill it up—6kg. 1kg is ₦1,300, so the total should be ₦7,800. She started filling it, but NEPA took light. So she went to turn on the generator, came back, and continued. Before the light went off, the dispenser was already reading ₦1,465. The sales girl then started pressing her calculator for almost 5 minutes. I even noticed her hands were shaking and sweating. I asked her what she was doing. She said she was trying to calculate how much had already entered the cylinder before the light went off. I told her it was simple—since I’m buying ₦7,800 worth of gas, she should subtract ₦1,465 from ₦7,800. She smiled and said thank you. That meant I had ₦6,335 left. But to my surprise, the dispenser didn’t stop at ₦7,800. It kept going. When it got to ₦8,800, I told her to stop because I didn’t understand what was going on anymore. That was when she said I would have to pay the extra money. I asked her, “If my cylinder is 6kg, and 6kg is ₦7,800, where is the extra gas entering?” She couldn’t answer. Then a man from behind stepped forward and said gas cylinders are not always the exact kg written on them—that my 6kg cylinder could actually take about 6.8kg or more. I was shocked because I had never heard that before. Then another woman in the queue said it was true. In the end, I paid ₦8,800 instead of ₦7,800 😥 Honestly, did they cheat me, or is that how it sometimes works?

I once ended a talking stage over milk, and till today it still makes me laugh because on the surface it sounds ridiculous, but it really was not. We were on a call, just a normal conversation, and somehow it drifted to lactose intolerance. He casually mentioned he was lactose intolerant, and I said same here, thinking it would just be one of those small bonding moments people have. Instead, he paused and asked me if I even knew what lactose intolerance meant. I thought he was joking, but he was completely serious. I reminded him, calmly at first, that I am a doctor and I do not just throw medical terms around without understanding them. But he did not stop. He kept questioning me like I had no idea what I was saying. So I asked him what made him lactose intolerant, and his answer was that milk sometimes sends him to the toilet. That was his entire diagnosis. I explained my own experience, how from birth I could not tolerate breast milk or any lactose based food, how I had to survive on pap made from corn, and yet he still tried to argue. At that point, something clicked. It was no longer about lactose intolerance, it was about how easily he dismissed me, how comfortable he was speaking down to me, and how unwilling he was to listen even when he was clearly wrong. In that moment, I saw the future, not in a dramatic way, but in the small everyday conversations where you should feel heard and respected but instead feel like you are constantly proving yourself. So yes, I ended things over milk, but not really. I ended it because I refuse to be in a space where I have to shrink just so someone else can feel big. Did I do too much ?

@NancyIsime678 I just think there is need for both parties to come together and discuss things out... don't you think is more childish for her to air sth that should be private for public consumption.

Don’t you think it’s a bit childish when someone is angry, refuses to talk about it for days, keeps saying everything is fine when asked, then later sends a long message explaining everything instead of just speaking directly?”

It’s everyday I see drama in this my business 😂 A customer placed order for Kilishi. I confirmed her payment and asked for her contact details because the order took place on messenger. This lady said she doesn’t give strangers her contact. That she only trusts her family. I paused… then asked, “How will I deliver your order without your phone number?” Next thing, she asked for a refund. Till today, I’m still asking myself… how exactly did she plan to receive the Kilishi? 😭 See eh, business will humble you in different ways. Have you ever experienced something like this in your business? Let’s talk 😅

"My friend cancelled her wedding on Thursday, just two days before it was supposed to be held on Saturday. She said that on that Thursday, her mother-in-law called her to a location only the two of them knew. When she got there, the woman was already waiting. The mother-in-law told her that if she still wanted to marry her son, she should know that in their family they don’t believe in one wife. She asked her if she remembered her husband-to-be’s uncle and how many wives he had. My friend said three. The woman then mentioned another relative who also had two wives. She went further to say even her son’s father had three wives, so her son would also marry other wives. She added that her son could even have a child outside the marriage and she was only informing her so she wouldn’t “disgrace” their family later. My friend asked if she was supporting her son to cheat on her, and the woman said it is not cheating but a family tradition. When asked if her son knew about this, she replied that she didn’t need to tell him because he would definitely do what she said” Bride cancels her wedding just two days before the scheduled ceremony after a shocking conversation with her future mother-in-law.

Please go to any divorce court, you will discover that you won't see any woman asking for her love back. They're all asking for money and properties. Men are in love... Women are in business. Correct me if I'm wrong.📌

I was rejected… in under 2 minutes. I hadn’t even finished explaining myself. He glanced at my CV, shook his head, and said, “We’re looking for someone with more experience.” That was it. I smiled, said “thank you,” and walked out like it didn’t bother me. But the moment I stepped outside, I just stood there. No anger. No tears. Just… empty. I almost went straight home. But something in me said, “Don’t end your day like this.” So instead, I walked into the next building. No appointment. No connection. No plan. Just walked in and asked if they were hiring. The receptionist looked confused… then called someone. 15 minutes later, I was sitting in front of a manager. We talked. Not perfectly. Not confidently. Just honestly. Three days later, I got the offer. The same day I got rejected… Was the same day something else quietly opened? That’s when I learned: Rejection doesn’t mean “no.” Sometimes it just means, “not here.” So if something didn’t work out today— Don’t go home yet. Try one more door.

@poriaspec @ceraliza Yea, I get this part, but I also want to believe he is that mad at himself that how did he get to that phase in the first place. Probably he was so angry that that was the only option that came to his head.
