DAC8 este o actualizare a „Directivei privind cooperarea administrativă” a UE, care stabilește standarde comune pentru schimbul de date fiscale între țările membre. Începând cu 1 ianuarie 2026, toți furnizorii de servicii cripto (exchange-uri, brokeri, anumite portofele) care operează în UE vor fi obligați să colecteze și să raporteze datele despre tranzacțiile utilizatorilor către autoritatea fiscală locală. Apoi, autoritățile fiscale naționale vor schimba automat aceste date cu alte state membre ale UE în care utilizatorul are rezidența fiscală.
