@HsaChair @cns46z Gamekeepers are not, and never have been, earthy rustics keeping cherished traditional rural ways alive. They're one thing, and one thing only. Abusers. A very real rural tradition was parents who lived in certain areas warning their kids not to go near the gamekeeper's cottage.

On Saturday 4th October 2025 at Laxton, Nottinghamshire a hunt sab dashcam recorded at least four separate incidents of dog fouling as the hunt left the meet. The pack was the Grove & Rufford Hunt who had managed to field just five riders. The incidents were reported to the local council, Newark & Sherwood who, after four and a half months said the complaint would not be actioned. If this had been anyone else, the council would no doubt have taken action, unfortunately councils up and down the country seem to give preferential treatment to hunts. This final report focuses on the Quantocks Staghounds. At the first meet on 18th September 2025, our operatives witnessed a laughable speech from a hunt master who claimed that the hunt conducts ‘Research and Observation’ of stags but that “trails may also be laid.” The Quantocks will also routinely claim to be flushing to guns - using two dogs – and to be ‘rescuing a casualty’ animal with no sense of irony. This juvenile stag (or "pricket”) escaped the Devon and Somerset Staghounds/quads today. Two hours into the day and he’s running strong, albeit absolutely terrified, whilst the dishonorable hunters have to stop and change to fresh hounds for a THIRD time!

While some fox hunts have had their closing meets there are still hunts that will be out today terrorising wildlife. Sabs will be continuing to save lives as hare hunts are still out, stag hunts continue and mink hunting is just around the corner. Unfortunately, the war against our wildlife rages on and the HSA and its affiliated groups are at the forefront protecting it. Countryside Alliance now claims that Smokescreen trail hunting makes 100 million for the rural community. No proof given, and this would equate to around £710,000 per hunt generated. The numbers do not add up... No mention of wildlife and the disruption and damage hunts cause.
