Watching Ohio State’s last possession made me look up Tyus Edney’s classic game winner for UCLA. He went coast-to-coast in 4.8 seconds Ohio State barely got to half court and 4.1. Throwing back to the inbounder was too slow and allowed TCU to easily double and slow the ball.

@BreakthruBball @tchehy1004 Chase Johnston from High Point is a great example. On the season he’s made 68 3’s and one 2 (just happened to be the game winner today). He’s playing D1 hoops bc he is ELITE at one skill (which just so happens to be the most Important skill). Get great at what you’re good at!

Some players who can only catch and shoot get college scholarships... As long as they're elite at that skill. At the same time, I'm not advocating to being one dimensional. Add counters and other aspects to your game, but don't neglect the most important stuff. Do what works and do it a lot!

Have you noticed this SUPER IMPORTANT trend in the NCAA tournament? Half of your shots come off the catch! And according to analytics (HS to NBA and WNBA), they're the highest Points Per Shot or EFG%. Each additional dribble you take after the catch, your shooting percentage goes down. Make sure your offseason workouts are aligned with this! Offseason workouts should contain these elements after a game-like cut: - Shots off the catch - Shots off 1 dribble > finishing move - shots off 1 dribble > pull up jumper - Shots off dribble move > finishing move - Shots off dribble move > pull up jumper - 1v1 and 2v2 games The 1v1 and 2v2 games replicate the action you're trying to practice. That way, they get used to shooting and make decisions against live defenders.

Keys To Shooting With Jim Huber - Upper body alignment - Your lead shoulder and hip alignment are key to shooting. Stagger your feet, keep your shoulder forward, and maintain a relaxed wrist. Think of it like a slingshot—draw it back for power! #BasketballTips #ShootingForm

Stack zone offense play from The Complete Zone Offense Blueprint with Ryan Schultz. The "Stack" play: a quick hitter for a layup, especially effective with a left-handed finisher on the left side. Forward coverage is key—if they don't come out, hit that 3! #BasketballPlays #Hoops

Keys To Shooting With Jim Huber - Footwork - Stance check! Feet hip-width apart (or a tad narrower) gives you balance for a quicker shot. Slightly staggered feet help align your elbow, avoiding tension and missed shots. Find what's comfortable! #BasketballTips #ShootingForm

DKS: Drive, Kick, Swing from Nat Steege. This drill teaches players to drive, re-space, and swing the ball, creating advantages in 4-on-3 situations for layups or open threes. Great to work on penetration reaction and keeping advantages your offense creates. #BasketballDrills

Run the "disadvantage drill" from Coach Bob Martin to put your players in game-like situations where they have to make reads. Start with 1-on-0, 2v1, 3v2, 4v3, 5v4, then progress to 5-on-5. Great for transition O & D. #BasketballDrills #Defense
