@heymrsbond My own kids have stayed they dislike how their peers behave at school. They get frustrated and embarrassed by it. They want to do well and learn but some of their peers are not conducive to that.

@Gorkerina @missI_MFL I always let kids go (might ask if they can wait for a few min.)If it seems they are going often, I may loop in the nurse or parents because I’m concerned something is happening medically. I don’t like not being able to use the RR as needed, so I empathize with kids.

@missI_MFL I worry for my daughter who is in high school. No toilet breaks allowed except at break time. But not enough toilets to make it feasible for everyone to go then, so she withholds drinks during the day. Access to a toilet is a basic human right, for teachers and students alike.

Can we just talk about how hard it is to be a teacher and on your period? Specific times that you are able to go to the toilet, duties that interfere with break times and toilet access, dealing with pain whilst teaching. It’s exhausting.

@ItsAMrY @sage_stage When I had gestational diabetes, kids would ask to eat in my room all of the time and I always said no. They pushed back and I finally explained that was when I had to take my insulin shots. People should be respect others availability and boundaries.

@sage_stage Hmmm….sounds like the student is wanting to take it as soon as possible, not drag her feet. Isn’t that a good thing? What am I missing here? I always appreciate the student that wants it ASAP vs after a weekend when they get more study or info from classmates. 🤷
