Recent FAQ for LUCY DON'T DIE! This budget buys us the dedicated time to deliver the wildest Nazi-slaying grindhouse bloodbath ever put on screen! With this film we are not only creating a standalone grindhouse epic - we are expanding and continuing our long-running Huckbros “Conrad The Bavarian” Universe. This is the next chapter in the wild, beer-fueled storytelling saga we have been building since we started indie film-making! We both have regular jobs. With your support we can finally pause those jobs and do what we are truly passionate about: Directing our first real 90-minute feature film with full dedication. 45,000 € total for full-time directors across the entire production is significantly below market rate. We are heavily subsidizing the film with our own time and lost income - because we want, we love this project so much! AI can generate shots quickly, but it does not replace human creativity. The script, screenplay, emotional storytelling, maintaining consistency over 90 minutes, 1,200+ directorial decisions and the final edit. AND the directors cut! The biggest hidden budget challenge is consistency. Lucy must always look like Lucy, "Der Bum" must be permanently drunk and the gore properly epic across the whole movie. Many shots need 50+ generations until they are perfect. That is real, intensive creative work. And needs a load of beer. We also cover the real costs for AI services: Subscriptions and credits for professional image and video generation tools add up to several thousand euros over the whole production period. Even with heavy daily use this remains only a small fraction of the budget - the vast majority still goes directly into our full-time working hours... and the 4K upscaling.
