@domdyer70 Wood pigeons and crows feast on wild bird seed and fresh water each day in my garden. I don’t mind them bathing in the water but it would be nice if they would stop using it as a toilet!

My confidence and self worth haven’t been great lately and I just wanted to say thats ok so other people who suffer with depression or anxiety know that it’s ok to feel like that. I’m CEO of Happy Doggo and most people in positions like mine have to hide stuff like this. Most people in all positions In life do actually. It’s really hard to admit you don’t feel the best about yourself. That’s why I just write it down as I feel because maybe it’ll help someone. Between our team, partners and everything wrapped up in what I do there are probably 100+ people who rely on me. Add in social media, donors and everything else and that’s a massive happy facade to keep up. I’ve learnt though that it’s ok to say you are not ok. At the moment I’m going through the motions. Still working hard and trying my best but I feel a bit worthless. No self worth at all. I also have imposter syndrome. I know I can jus read the comments here or look at the dogs saved and I should be happy but it doesn’t bring me anything. I look in the mirror at the moment and can’t even really look at myself. No particular reason or spark for this. As people who suffer know it just comes in a dark wave like a fog. I could easily share some happy dog photos and smile and pretend I felt amazing. But I’d rather be honest and try to help others. I have untold amounts of support and good luck that many of you dont. So if you're feeling down or a little rough right now, that's okay because so am I, and it's absolutely fine to say that. Have a lovely weekend and be kind to each other ❤️

I have a parcel to collect at the Post Office. It is open between 9 and 5:30. I work 9-5. It takes 40 mins to get home on the train. How is this meant to work

My daughter made these and asked me if anyone besides me would think they're cute. She's eleven and hasn't had a single friend invite her to anything in over a year. The girls at school decided she was "weird" last winter and just stopped talking to her completely, like she doesn't exist. She eats lunch alone in the bathroom and comes home asking me what's wrong with her, why nobody likes her, why everything she does is wrong. She made these little characters from old baseball bats she found in the garage, spent hours painting them while I pretended not to hear her crying. When she finished, she lined them up and said "They look stupid, don't they?" I told her they were adorable and she just looked at me with this completely broken expression and said, "You're my mom. You have to say that. But nobody at school would ever think something I made was good." I need you all to tell her these are amazing because she won't believe me. She needs to hear from people who aren't obligated to love her that she's talented, that those girls are wrong about her, that being creative and different isn't something to be ashamed of. She's talking about not going back to school after Christmas break, and I'm terrified I'm losing her to this loneliness. I showed her handmade crafts online last week, told her that real people buy and sell creative things like this all the time, that there's a whole community of makers who celebrate each other instead of tearing each other down. She didn't believe me. So please, if you think these snowman and Santa and reindeer are cute, tell her. She checks my phone when I'm not looking, and I know she'll see your comments. Maybe if enough strangers tell her the truth, she'll stop believing what those cruel girls have convinced her is true about herself. Credit ~ marta hanger

I remember Sundays being my mum’s washing day the twin tub out, steam filling the kitchen, the smell of soap powder in the air. It was hard work compared to today, but somehow it felt more homely, more real. You’d hear that motor whirring away all afternoon, and it just felt like part of life. Simpler times… does anyone else remember those days? 🧺✨

Maybe his name is Duke, or maybe no one ever named him. What we know is that he has known fear, cold, loneliness. When they found him, this big brown pitbull was sitting quietly on a blue blanket, a little orange toy monkey tucked between his paws. The monkey’s arms were gone, its color faded, its stuffing half missing but to him, it was everything. The only piece left from a life he once knew. Maybe once, it smelled like home. Maybe it reminded him of hands that used to pet him, of laughter that used to echo around him. Now, in the shelter, he never lets it go. He sleeps with it. Eats beside it. And sometimes, when the world feels too heavy, he lays his head on it, as if it still whispers, “You’re not alone.” Duke doesn’t bark much. He doesn’t beg for attention. Every morning, when the volunteers open the doors, he lifts his head just a little eyes shining for a second with that fragile hope: “Maybe today.” But most days, no one stops. Maybe because he’s a pitbull strong, muscular, serious-looking. Maybe they can’t see past the face that looks tough but hides a heart that’s all softness. If you stay, if you kneel down and look into his eyes, you’ll see it. That quiet love. That unspoken plea for someone to finally say, “You’re safe now.” He’s not just a shelter dog. He’s a soul that’s been through too much, and still chooses to wait. He’s the kind of dog who once gave his whole heart to someone and never got it back. And yet, he still believes. He still holds onto that little monkey, like a promise that someday, someone will come. Duke doesn’t need much. Just a warm hand to rest on his head. A gentle voice to tell him he’s home. He won’t ask for toys, or long walks, or fancy beds. All he wants is to be loved the way he’s always loved, with everything he has. One day, someone will see him. They’ll look past the breed, past the tough look, and they’ll see the truth: a kind, loyal heart still waiting behind those tired eyes. Because behind that cage, there isn’t just a pitbull. There’s a story. There’s hope. And a little orange monkey, waiting beside him — a reminder that love, no matter how long it’s been lost, is still worth waiting for. 🧡 If you can, come meet him. @domdyer70 Pigeons are customers. The daily menu is a wild bird mix with occasional extras offered. Water is available for drinking or splashing about in. All species are welcome but wood pigeons and crows are the most regular customers. In return the birds rarely leave a mess our car,
