@Chris_Boardman Chris, we need long term govt commitment and stable funding not culture wars and inaccessible crappy pots of cash. Bury St Edmunds could be great but it needs transformative design, cash and a sea change in attitudes. There are glimmers. Let me know if you need help.

A sadly unsurprising dip in today’s stats. We’ve been building health out of streets & baking pollution in. It’s a road we can’t afford, that takes us to a place we don’t want to live.
We get what we build for, so let’s start building something better.

It’s a bit dispiriting to hear via another paper that the DfT is accusing me of having “selectively plucked” details from a leaked report when I did my best to reflect it fairly - and when the same DfT people made no complaint about the article to me.

Out canvassing in Fordingbridge, Godshill and Hyde today. Both Phil and I new to this but pleasantly surprised at how welcoming everyone has been. Most common phrase heard: “I used to vote Conservative but now I’m not sure”. Long way to go but keen to knock on many more doors.

@RantyHighwayman As a Bury cyclist, it’s ok. There are some separate lanes but some cycle paths are on lumpy pavements. Needs work but the council is trying.
