W Spain 🇪🇸! Viva Cristo Rey! The cross on the highest peak of the Spanish Pyrenees was restored and then reinstalled by the Mountain group of the Guardia Civil.
The GREIM of Benasque and the Benasque Air Detachment have collaborated in reinstalling the cross on the summit of Aneto, at an altitude of 3,404 meters.
This cross was originally installed by the Catalonian Hiking Center in the mid-20th century and was restored last year.
Raising a massive steel Cross to the highest peak of the Spanish Pyrenees is no casual endeavor.
It requires immense logistical precision, helicopters cutting through thin alpine air, and the sheer physical fortitude of the Spanish Guardia Civil.
But this operation isn't merely an infrastructure project. It's tradition.
For centuries, mountaineers have deliberately crowned the highest, most inaccessible peaks not with monuments to human ego, but with the cross.
Mountains have always held a heavy biblical resonance—they are places of transfiguration, divine revelation, and ultimate sacrifice.
To scale the absolute roof of a continent, look out over the expanse of creation, and immediately plant a symbol that points even higher is the purest expression of reverence.
The Guardia Civil’s mountain rescue units are hardened professionals who routinely risk their own lives in unforgiving terrain to pull the lost and broken from the edge of death.
To see these specific men, those intimately familiar with the brutal reality of the peaks, dedicating their efforts to anchor the Cross of Christ is an incredible sight.
They are etching a permanent reminder into the skyline that even the most formidable, untouchable heights of the earth ultimately belong to the Christ.

“In Morocco only 16% of women work and they make you believe that those women with mustaches dressed like bundles are going to work in Spain when they get their papers” 😂👏👏 Thanks for saying.

En Marruecos solo el 16% de las mujeres trabajan y os hacen creer que esos crancos con bigote vestidas como fardos van a trabajar en España cuando les den los papeles.
