In the context of the latest Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Israel appears to be resorting to what is known as the “double-tap” tactic, in which two consecutive strikes are carried out at the same location. The second strike occurs at a time when paramedics and medical teams gather to provide first aid to the wounded or evacuate those killed in the initial strike. This practice effectively targets medical personnel, increases the risk of injury and death among them, and seriously undermines the ability of emergency response teams to carry out their duties in the country.  These attacks demonstrate a clear disregard for the special protection granted to medical personnel and facilities under international humanitarian law.  Read more on: cldh-lebanon.org/OurBlog/Artica… في سياق الهجمات الإسرائيلية الأخيرة على لبنان، يبدو أن إسرائيل تلجأ إلى ما يُعرف بتكتيك «الضربة المزدوجة»، حيث تنفذ ضربتين متتاليتين في الموقع نفسه. وتأتي الضربة الثانية في توقيت يتجمع فيه المسعفون والطواقم الطبية لتقديم الاسعافات الاولية ا للجرحى أو نقل الضحايا الذين سقطوا جراء الضربة الأولى. ويؤدي هذا الأسلوب عملياً إلى استهداف العاملين في المجال الطبي، ويزيد من خطر إصابتهم أو مقتلهم، كما يقوّض بشكل خطير قدرة فرق الاستجابة الطارئة على اداء مهامها في البلاد.  تُظهر هذه الهجمات تجاهلاً واضحاَ للحماية الخاصة التي تتمتع بها الطواقم والمنشآت الطبية وفقاً للقانون الدولي الانساني. اقرا المزيد عبر: cldh-lebanon.org/OurBlog/Artica…

As the conflict evolves, the situation on the ground is becoming increasingly unpredictable.  Amid this response, one reality must be clearly acknowledged: civilians and humanitarian workers themselves are increasingly exposed to danger. تصاعد الانتهاكات الجسيمة بحق الأطفال في لبنان يستدعي تحركًا دوليًا عاجلًا. تشكل هذه الانتهاكات خرقًا واضحًا لاتفاقية حقوق الطفل وقواعد القانون الدولي الإنساني التي تلزم جميع الأطراف بحماية المدنيين، ولا سيما الأطفال، في جميع الأوقات. إن استهداف المناطق المدنية، وسقوط الأطفال بين شهيد وجريح، وتعطيل المدارس والمرافق الصحية، وتزايد النزوح القسري، كلها مؤشرات خطيرة على تفاقم المخاطر التي تهدد حياة الأطفال وسلامتهم وحقوقهم الأساسية. إن حماية الأطفال في النزاعات المسلحة ليست خيارًا إنسانيًا فحسب، بل التزام قانوني دولي يفرض على المجتمع الدولي التحرك العاجل لوقف الانتهاكات وضمان المساءلة. الأطفال في لبنان ليسوا أرقامًا في تقارير تقارير إنسانية، بل حياة ومستقبل يجب حمايتهما.

يؤكد تحالف حرية الرأي رفضه لتوقيف مغني الراب جعفر اسكندر (المعروف باسم جعفر الطفار)، معتبراً أن انتقاده لرئيسي الجمهورية والحكومة لا يستوجب اتخاذ إجراءات مانعة للحرية لكونه يندرج في إطار ممارسة حقه في حرية الرأي، كما يخرج عن صلاحيات القضاء العسكري أو المؤسسة العسكرية. ويؤكد أن التعبير عن الرأي، بما في ذلك توجيه النقد إلى السلطات العامة والمسؤولين السياسيين، يندرج ضمن نطاق الحماية التي يكفلها الدستور والقوانين لحرية التعبير، ولا يجوز أن يشكّل بحد ذاته أساساً للملاحقة أو التوقيف. اقرا المزيد عبر cldh-lebanon.org/OurBlog/Artica… @FoECoalition

We call for real acknowledgment of women’s role in every aspect of society, and for concrete action to ensure their rights are fully respected and protected. CLDH remains committed to the fight for full equality: for Lebanese women to be recognized as equal citizens, and for migrant women workers to live and work in dignity, free from exploitation, abuse, and slavery. في هذا اليوم العالمي للمرأة، يُحيّي المركز اللبناني لحقوق الإنسان قوة النساء في مختلف أنحاء لبنان وصمودهنّ وقيادتهنّ. وندعو إلى اعترافٍ حقيقي بدور النساء في كل جوانب المجتمع، وإلى اتخاذ إجراءات ملموسة تضمن احترام حقوقهنّ وحمايتها بشكل كامل. ويؤكد المركز اللبناني لحقوق الإنسان التزامه المستمر بالنضال من أجل المساواة التامة: من أجل أن تُعترف بالنساء اللبنانيات كمواطنات متساويات في الحقوق، وأن تعيش العاملات المهاجرات ويعملن بكرامة، بعيدًا عن الاستغلال وسوء المعاملة والعبودية.

في زمن الحرب، يجب أن يكون المأوى مساحة أمان لا مساحة إقصاء. إنّ التمييز في أوقات الأزمات يعمّق الهشاشة وينتهك مبدأ الحماية المتساوية. يدعو المركز اللبناني لحقوق الإنسان وزارة الشؤون الاجتماعية إلى ضمان تمكين جميع النازحين من الوصول إلى المأوى والمساعدة دون أي تمييز، بغضّ النظر عن الجنسية أو المعتقدات أو التوجّه الجنسي.

In times of war, shelter should mean safety, not exclusion. Discrimination in moments of crisis deepens vulnerability and violates the principle of equal protection. CLDH calls on the Ministry of Social Affairs to ensure that all displaced persons can access shelter and assistance without discrimination, regardless of nationality, beliefs, or sexual orientation.

On March 1, 2026, Israel started a series of wider attacks consisting of simultaneous airstrikes on different areas of the South, Bekaa, Mount Lebanon, and Beirut's Southern Suburbs. While the Israeli side has been violating the November 2024 ceasefire every day they widened the scope of the attacks amid the ongoing conflict and instability in the region. The Lebanese Center for Human Rights unequivocally condemns Israel's targeting of residential areas, and unlawful killing of civilians, in violation of the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. CLDH emphasizes that these attacks represent a systematic pattern of violations and a disregard for the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.  Read the full statement on cldh-lebanon.org/OurBlog/Artica… في الاول من شهر آذار 2026، بدأت إسرائيل سلسلة من الهجمات الأوسع نطاقًا تمثّلت في غارات جوية متزامنة على مناطق مختلفة في الجنوب والبقاع والضاحية الجنوبية لبيروت. وبينما كان الجانب الإسرائيلي ينتهك اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار الموقع في تشرين الثاني 2024 بشكل يومي، فقد وسّع نطاق الهجمات في البقاع والجنوب وجبل لبنان، في ظل استمرار النزاع وحالة عدم الاستقرار في المنطقة.  يدين المركز اللبناني لحقوق الإنسان استهداف المناطق السكنية والقتل غير المشروع للمدنيين، باعتبارها انتهاكات لاتفاقية جنيف الرابعة لعام 1949 بشأن حماية المدنيين وقت الحرب. ويؤكد المركز أن هذه الهجمات تمثل نمطًا ممنهجًا من الانتهاكات وتجاهلًا للمبادئ الأساسية للقانون الدولي الإنساني.  اقرا المزيد عبر cldh-lebanon.org/OurBlog/Artica…
