@mrjosie0418 You may be able to repair it. But it’s going to be a pain. You ma also be able to get a junkyard shift box and swap that part

@HumbleMechanic i have a question sir. I was replacing the shift knob in my 2011 s4 automatic and the piece of plastic the shift button engages broke. The dealership wants to change the entire shift assembly, would you happen to know if just that part can be replaced/repaired?

@HumbleMechanic Good sir, do you know what version of the EA888 engine is in a 17 Tiguan? Does it have the same issues as 09 GTI? Very hard to find such info.
