@umirf1 I still still think overall issues are fundamentally down to make up of the squad but if we want someone to start yet another rebuild, I think people just don't have patience for yet another relative unknown.

Carrick is unusually underrated in general conversation. Not sure why.

@Itshaber @NepentheZ Modes been out 18 years. Whether you played 4, 6 or 10+, eventually the same cycle becomes routine, just more optimised every year. People max out earlier each year and quit cos the time/money isn’t worth it.

@Itshaber @NepentheZ Is it just that the mode itself is losing its appeal? A lot of the discussion is based around gameplay but most people I know play for a few months and then stop playing when their team reaches the glass ceiling and the grind isn't worth it.

FC is definitely a lot more dead this year than any other year. But something I ask myself, as a content creator; do we have a part to play in this outcome? I feel like, myself and a lot of other creators have kinda just done the same thing every year, and relied on EA's content to make our content interesting. Eventually people were gonna get tired of watching the same pack opening, SBC, RTG etc. Seen some 'new' ideas actually work (upgrading people's accounts, timed RTGs etc) in recent years, but I feel like we aren't doing enough to be creative in this space and keep viewers coming back. Maybe I'm being overly harsh but I know in regards to myself, I am not proud of my 'content' anymore.
NepentheZ@NepentheZ

6 30pm duting prem TOTS, and this game has never been more mudded. I'm looking forwards to 2K FIFA & Goals, just as some alternatives to FC, and in the hopes that EA wake up and rebuild this game for the better. The issues have been discussed to death, so I wont bore you with my thoughts on them again, I just really hope EA have some plans beyond running the well dry then abandoning the mode.

@_rick1800 I'd like Nagelsmann or Valverde. Else stick to Carrick and focus on recruitment for now and see if he levels up.

Not a fan of this. Iraola is heavily reliant on a strong pressing setup that brings games down to a lower quality level where his teams can outfight the opposition. Neither does this align with our team (we're not good pressers) nor does it align with a top team that dominates IP

@Malachians Hmm fair point, I get where you’re coming from. I do think the article kind of dumbs down the sequence of events though I really doubt (or at least hope) that’s the level of thinking at the club 😅.

Respectfully I did not because I can read. You can imagine something else was said that wasn’t in order to have this position but i chose to base mine on what was actually said. I’m pretty sure they know how to say that Carrick having a similar style to Ole is the concern and even that wouldn’t be too bright since most of us understand why he had that playing style.

Anyone who is afraid to appoint Carrick because it didn’t work out with Ole should not be in a job there. What’s the thought process? If one caretaker manager didn’t work out years ago then one can’t work out now? It wasn’t because he was a caretaker manager that he failed and whether they give the job to Carrick or not, this should have nothing to do with the decision
(fan) Frank 🧠🇾🇪@FrankEra_

🚨🤔 | There are TWO schools of thought among the #MUFC hierarchy about the manager succession plan: The first is that Carrick gets the job because he deserves the chance, it goes wrong next season and the United hierarchy are DERIDED for following the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer model. The other is that Carrick is replaced by a more experienced manager, who struggles to adapt and then the hierarchy are accused of trying to fix something that was NOT broken. [@sistoney67]

Manchester United closing on Champions League football, and Michael Carrick surely closing on the permanent role. 13 games, 9 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats. The performances haven’t all been convincing but the results largely have been. A good performance/result against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday might make the clamour for Carrick irresistible. Unless Ineos can tempt one of the big beasts of management to Old Trafford. But who? Julian Nagelsmann? Luis Enrique? Difficult. Carrick favourite. He's done everything that Ineos has asked so far. He came in and changed the tactics. He changed the form and changed the mood amongst the players and amongst the support. Against Brentford, Carrick tweaked the team at half-time to a five to give United more control. Important change. Decisive. Helps having one game a week, more time at Carrington to prepare. Different rhythm and challenge next season - if he gets the job. The football needs to be better. One thing is certain: starting XI needs strengthening, squad needs deepening. #MUFC

Dave Meltzer is concerned that WWE is overexposing Danhausen, and WWE could be burning him out: "I feel that Danhausen is great in small doses and Friday night’s show was not small doses. I think if you put a lot of him on the show it becomes a turn off. To be honest, most people that would be the case, but Danhausen it’s kind of like a one note gimmick and it was just so much on this show. When the show was half way over I was like, ‘They’re gonna burn this guy out.’ That type of a gimmick is gonna have a shelf life anyway and the key is to extend it as long as possible." Do you agree? @NepentheZ Imo,one of the biggest reasons for the drop off from casuals is the glass ceiling. The mode has been around nearly 20 years and after your team gets to a certain level you can never get the best icons or top tier crazy cards until futties.

I think fundamentally the game just isn't fun to play. The packs, rewards, SBCs, Evo's were able to carry the game for so long, but ultimately we want to play a good football game. With EA getting the gameplay so wrong for so many years, and the fact the game breeds so much toxicity as a whole, people don't find the game fun. Games should be fun. FC 26 isn't.

🚨 It’s Premier League TOTS day and I’ve never seen it this dead ever. Wow. #FC26 Imagine where we’ll be next year if EA don’t get their act together?

What the Carrick fans don’t seem to be able to grasp is the legitimate concern at the standard of football that’s being served up. As an interim it doesn’t really matter and just going “but we won bro” is fine. But if it becomes permanent that won’t wash. It’s a major problem.

@Am_dknowl @FabrizioRomano The type of players they want (experienced, leaders, etc.) doesn’t change. But whether they’re in the Champions League affects how high they can aim within that profile.

🚨 Liam Rosenior: “The reality is, does everything change with or without Champions League? No”. “The plan, in terms of what this team needs and what we need to be successful, doesn’t. The context around that does. So, money, especially finances, that type of thing”.

@_callumstone Personally I don't care as long as top 4 is secured but I agree with the general point he seems to be making us style of play and tactical ability of the manager will be important for next season and have we seen enough of that to be confident Carrick is the guy?

It’s clear Brent will give Carrick the Ole treatment simply because he’s a former player. Saying results haven’t been that good when we’ve accrued more points than anyone else since he came in. It’s false narratives that lead to abuse. He knows this but he doesn’t care.
