@realphilipdias @DoronJGold @jennyyu24 All of the worst atrocities in human history were enacted with “the best intentions”. Your intentions don’t shield you from the harm you are responsible for in this thread. Your perspective is rooted in white supremacy & you are actively gaslighting Indigenous people.

@DoronJGold @HummingbirdsRA @jennyyu24 No intention to hurt, but I look at facts. The schools were very badly implemented good intentions. The holocaust was pure malice. They are not the same.

@HummingbirdsRA @realphilipdias @jennyyu24 And I compared them not to equate their precise factual underpinnings, but to offer my empathy, as the son of a Holocaust survivor who has watched his family’s trauma denied, to those in indigenous communities who are now enduring similar cruel denialism.

@realphilipdias @jennyyu24 @DoronJGold And there should be no more debate to the fact the Canada is responsible for genocides. The federal government has unanimously agreed that their IRS were acts of genocides.

@HummingbirdsRA @jennyyu24 @DoronJGold There is a vast difference with the residential schools versus what happened in the holocaust. No one would have survived the schools had they been similarly intentioned.

@realphilipdias @jennyyu24 @DoronJGold I’m not sure why you are comparing a part of the genocides to the whole of another. Canada’s Indian Residential School were a tool and not the entirety. Canada’s genocidal laws & policies were used as inspiration by Germany so they are more similar than you think.

We may have been quiet on Twitter, but not elsewhere! Last week, we presented our Reconciliation workshop to SOS Children’s Village staff/board, and a Reconciliation 101 workshop to the Surrey Teachers Association. Up next: the board/staff of a local mental health organization!💕
