There was a chapter, maybe the end of Act 2(?), where Lee talked about his mentor, a Kenyan park ranger, and an FAL rifle with tally marks for the number of poachers he'd killed, and Lee resolves to do whatever it takes to protect his team. Then he buys them a bunch of TMs. I thought the story was going in a very different direction.
