🏟️Yesterday our brilliant Champions Programme hosted their Violence Against Women and Girls awareness event in the Legends Lounge, inviting schools from across Blackburn with Darwen to take part. 👉The aim of the event was to raise awareness, challenge negative behaviours, and encourage positive attitudes around respect and safety. 💙We would like to thank @DarwenVale and @WPAschool for attending and supporting this important initiative. ✍️Pupils were able to engage in a range of interactive sessions and learned about consent, the dangers of non-fatal strangulation, and how to recognise unhealthy behaviours, alongside informative sessions delivered by The Wish Centre and @HumraazBlackbur . 🥋In the afternoon, pupils enjoyed an interactive session with Blackburn Martial Arts and kick boxing (BMAKB), where they watched a demonstration of breakaway techniques and learned practical skills to help keep themselves safe. 🤝The young people then networked with a number of local services that support the initiative. Thank you everyone for coming and showing your support! #BRCTInclusion #BRCTEvents #VAWG #ViolenceAgainstWomenAndGirls | @LancsPolice @LancsVRN @blackburndarwen @UtilitaEnergy Project 180 Brooke Sexual Health Burnley FC in the Community
