“God will punish you” - Lady laments after discovering perfume gift from talking stage costs ₦800,000
A woman has gone viral after sharing her frustration over a luxury perfume she received from a man she was in a brief “talking stage” with. In a trending social media video, she accused some men of introducing women to an expensive “baby girl” lifestyle during the early stages of connection, only for them to be unable or unwilling to sustain it. She explained that the man initially came across as caring and generous, frequently treating her and creating the impression of financial comfort, before she later noticed what she described as concerning behavioural patterns that led her to end communication.
What seemed like a thoughtful gesture eventually turned into shock when she discovered the perfume’s true market value. She said she had genuinely liked the fragrance and even planned to replace it herself once it ran out, only to later learn it reportedly costs ₦800,000. Expressing disbelief, she questioned how such a luxury aligns with her income and vented her frustration over the situation. The video has since sparked widespread online debate in Nigeria, with people discussing modern “talking stage” dynamics, financial expectations in dating, and the pressure that comes with extravagant gifts early in relationships.

Colleen Ritzer was a 24-year-old math teacher in Danvers High School in Massachusetts. She was known to help her students who had difficulty with her subject. She had asked Philip Chism, a 14-year-old ninth-grader to wait behind after school for further tutoring. Instead of taking advantage of his teacher’s generosity, Philip decided to kill her.
At the end of the school day, Chism followed Ritzer into a school toilet. Wielding a box cutter, Chism robbed, raped and killed her, then rolled her body in a garbage can to the woods behind the school. Chism then took himself into town and bought a movie ticket using Ritzer’s credit card.
When the police caught him the following morning, Chism had not washed his hands, and still had Ritzer’s blood all over them.
when Chism was asked whose blood it was, he said, “It’s the girl’s.” When asked if he knew where she was, he chillingly replied, “She’s buried in the woods.”
The gruesome sight of Ritzer’s half naked body was covered with leaves, a tree branch had to be pulled from her vagina, and a folded handwritten note lay nearby worded, “I hate you all.”
Philip Chism was sentenced to at least 40 years in prison.
