It was great to be able to welcome our local MP Laura Farris to school today and tell her about how fantastic the staff have been in welcoming back the children before and after the summer. Of course it was also equally fantastic to tell her about our fabulous children.
What a fabulous first week back we have had. It has been great to see all the children back and to welcome all our new arrivals. Attendance has been excellent- over 95%.
Forest School has been a big hit- loved the face painting with mud. Thanks for all the messages of support.
So proud of all the staff at HPS. They have been amazing throughout this whole situation. So positive, creative and dedicated. They really miss the children and want to be back doing the job they love so much. Please join me in saying Thankyou. They deserve your support.
St Gabriel's School year 4 maths challenge: Last week we sent 2 teams(David/Harriet & Ruby/Adonis) to compete against 60 teams from other schools in this annual competition. The questions were very tricky but HPS Team Ruby/Adonis were the overall winners. Well done to them.
Well done to the children in year 5 for organising their Save the Koalas cake sale (with just a little help from the teaching staff). Their passion to help was fantastic and the money raised exceeded their expectations. £300 at the last count. Fabulous!
So proud of the children and staff at HPS for their hard work before and during our recent Ofsted inspection which led their judgement that we were GOOD in all areas. The inspectors met with loads of children and were impressed with their confidence, enthusiasm and good manners
It was great to be a part of the switching on of the Hungerford Christmas lights. Best lights in the area. Very proud of the school choir for their performance. Year 2 Christmas production tomorrow...can't wait🎅
As you may know we are thinking a lot about ecology and climate change at HPS and would like to tell you about an internet search engine called Ecosia. If you use this site then they will donate 80% of their income to plant trees around the world. ecosia.org
Thanks to all the Friends of HPS, volunteers and especially the committee for running and organising today’s Summer Fete. Everyone had a great time. Thanks also to all the entertainers who played and sang for us and to whoever sorted out the weather!...And we had a unicorn!
I am so proud of all of our Year 6 children who performed in “The Lion King” today. It was absolutely amazing. Visually stunning and with superb performances. School is about making memories and they won’t ever forget tonight. Congratulations to everyone involved. Wow!
If you’ve never been to the Watermill Theatre to see anything I would urge you to give it a go. It really is an amazing place to see a show. To see what’s on now and in the future go to

Very proud of the year 6s who performed at the Watermill Theatre this evening. Their two scenes in the Amazing Starlit Circus were fabulous. What talented performers we have.
@jog_school Congratulations from everyone at Hungerford Primary to everyone at JOG. What a fabulous achievement and thoroughly deserved.
Your hard work and dedication to the young people of Hungerford has really paid off. Well done!
Huge thanks and a big shout out to Mr Godfrey, Mrs Popperwell, Mrs Gohara, Mrs Eldred and Mrs Allen (and their families) who gave up their time to give the year 6 children an experience they will never forget. These weeks are great fun but the teachers are on call 24 hours a day
What a fabulous week we had at Condover Hall. The children were brilliant. "Best school ever" was the comment from one of the staff. The weather was a "little damp" but our spirits weren't. It was great to see so many of the children achieving things they never thought possible.
Great start to our year 6 adventure at Condover Hall. Everyone has settled in and enjoyed one activity this afternoont. Children have made a great first impression with the staff. Songs round campfire later if rain holds off. Will they sleep tonight? Smiles everywhere you look!
A huge thank you to the Friends of HPS who organised such a fabulous Sponsored Obstacle event. Lots of money raised so far so if you’ve not handed yours in yet please do so ASAP. All money raised will go to improving our outdoor environment. Every pound makes a difference
