Obviously I’m Codex pilled. But every day I’m floored by how capable this agent is, and how useful these apps are. Codex is seriously the friendliest dev tool ever to exist in the history of dev tools.

I think I realized ChatGPT Record, a feature of the ChatGPT macOS app that lets chat transcribe and summarize meetings, is the first ever vibe coded feature? Built by me and a team of 4 other fantastic Eng using o1-preview, o3, and very early versions of Codex out of OpenAI Seattle. The code included everything from AX, CoreAudio, API integration, and UI — all done using Swift and SwiftUI — and none of us having production experience shipping native Apple software. Very low crash rate, many happy users. The first versions of the alpha were code complete in March 2025, shipped to GA June 2025.

Been job hunting recently. It’s just as bad out there as everyone says. Good vibes to folks laid off this week. Sorry folks.

@mundoxrbrasil They were featuring TikTok for awhile after the app was 100% broken. Not sure the visionOS App Store has an editorial team anymore.

Apple features the ChatGPT app on the AVP store and probably doesn’t even know the app barely works anymore lol

Things with plugins and skills in the two latest codex for Mac builds have been wacky.

Why is Codex failing image gen and saying "Built-in image_gen tool is still not exposed in this session." ?

@thsottiaux @romainhuet Shared state across multiple windows is still sort of bugged / out of sync and the dock icon badge has a mind of its own.

For those of you living inside the codex app, what should we prioritize among features, reliability or performance?

@petergostev Or even just say “set a goal to do X” in the prompt will also engage it.

Did you know that /goal already exists in the codex app, there's no UI around it, but if you literally just start a message with /goal and write your goal then you can get it in the app, not just the CLI

Would love a ChatGPT app shortcut allowing me to append to a specific Codex remote thread so I can wire it up to the action button, etc. @Dimillian et al

@cifilter There are some utils to try to help like folivora.ai/keyboardcleant…. I think there used to an OF command too but I don’t think that works on ARM Macs. But yeah…

It's basically impossible to clean modern MacBook Pros because if even you turn them off, it's like any key press just turns it on. I'm trying to wipe down every inch of it haha

@PaulSolt I’ve been bit by this. So confusing.

TIL: TestFlight on App Store Connect gates External betas ... You can't create an External test group until you create an Internal test group. All I wanted was External and it gates that until after you've created the Internal group. I couldn't tell if the build was "In Review" ... and kept waiting. Finally, I tried creating an Internal Test Group and all of a sudden the option to create an External Test Group appears. Only after this ... can you actually submit the app for TestFlight App Review. Not the easiest to use UX.

when i type @ chrome on mac it just says this and then this disappears and chrome doesnt show up

@nicdunz I do use Pulse and images often… and pulse now is hidden in the sidebar junk more button. Not sure if I like these or not. Visually meh, for sure.
