Tonight marked the “unofficial start” of the most important and unpredictable stretch in WWE history. So if SmackDown felt somewhat underwhelming to you, it was likely by design.

I'm sorry, but WWE has taken a MAJOR leap backwards. Whether it's Triple H making the calls, or TKO, something needs to be done to turn the ship around.

Pat McAfee being shoehorned into the Rhodes/Orton title match (which I feel awful for him), IShowSpeed being involved in a title match with The Vision (Logan Paul and Speed should not be anywhere NEAR a wrestling ring), celebrities taking top spots away from actual talent.

It's sad that nearly two years ago, WWE was at its highest point, creative-wise, in years, with WrestleMania XL and that epic main event between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, and now we've gone back to VKM levels of mediocrity, but worse.

This is the first time a celebrity of any sort is getting involved in a major PPV match like this, and I feel genuinely bad for them. Not even angry, just... it sucks for him.
