A platform to show our adventures, learning, experiments and FUN! At school (TVDSB) I am known as, Mrs. Hunter. At home, it is “Mom” on repeat by two littles.

Getting prepped for tomorrow ✍️ Word problem: provided him with a 10 frame so he can add the correct amount of dots. I will leave spoons out for him to count. I will also encourage tally marks or stickers. He can show his work and not just tell me what the answer is.

So much learning can be done when working together doing practical “jobs” around the house. Let the children measure while baking, nail a bird house together, tend to a garden. 🌹

Math game 🎲 We both rolled a dice. He wrote his number and I wrote mine. He circled whose number was more or less depending on what the question asked. It helped with: -reading the dice -writing numbers -figuring out what number was more or less (Sidenote: he’s competitive)

Simple sentence starters to get their ideas flowing. My son(sk) copied these from a whiteboard I wrote to work on his printing and confidence. As we keep going I will start to get him to sound the words out. The words will not be spelt correctly and that’s okay! 👌🏼

@glbhealing I teach them both! I don’t see Bruce as often as it is drama, but I see Ben everyday! Tell them Mrs. Hunter says hi! 👋

Try this game at home! I got this game from a friend! Give your child(ren) a letter, we did “B” and “S”. They have to go around the house and bring you things that start with that letter. Blanket, baby, bear, bottle, books. Stroller, stick, sock, soap, stool.

On a snowy day today, if you can (as I know some are still working) be a kid again.... go outside with your children, laugh, build, throw a snowball- I promise you, the connection and calm you will bring to your children will be much more valuable than any workbook can bring!😀

Here are some ideas you can do at home. I will continue to send out ideas, but please know these are tough times and everyone deals with things differently, so don’t feel you need to do all these ideas. Some days, as parents, we just need to get by and that’s okay too!
