Eight Years @amnesty. Grateful for everything. One lesson learned that a former boss of mine told me when I had just joined is “let your work speak for you”.

The Taliban embarked on a campaign of illegal arrests of activists, protesters, journalists & ordinary citizens since their return to power in 2021. In 2025, this violation continued & increased with arrests of women for their hijab, leaving the house unaccompanied & more

Taliban’s 5 years legacy is families forced to sell their children especially daughters to survive. International community & Afghan’s in exile legacy is being busy with repeated conferences & projects that has helped no one nor has improved the situation for people in AFG.

Close to half of the executions recorded in 2025 were the result of the intensification of highly punitive approaches in the “war on drugs”. Drug-related executions in China, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Singapore contributed to these numbers. The death penalty has often been used by states as a show of power, and nowhere is this clearer than in the executions connected to drug offences. However, there are still signs that the tide is changing – in 2025 Viet Nam was one of the countries that took steps away from the death penalty and abolished this cruel punishment for eight offences, including drug transportation.

Afghanistan had hard-fought protections for women enshrined in law, including provisions on child marriage. With the Taliban, all progress is reversed by a decree from an unseen leader who is isolated from the lived reality of its people, most of all its women and girls.

As much as people might want to dispute or challenge the claims of ‘dog rape’ there’s simply no denying the torture that goes on against Palestinians inside of Israeli prisons. It’s been documented by the UN & every major human rights group, including Israeli human rights groups.

From @WSJFreeEx: Nicholas Kristof has published a poorly sourced, fantastical tale of torture and dog rape in Israel, writes @rachelodonoghue on.wsj.com/4diLgHc

Israel the victim??? If narcissism were a crime, this could be added to the lot to be considered by the court.
Israel Foreign Ministry@IsraelMFA

Today, the @nytimes chose to publish one of the worst blood libels ever to appear in the modern press. In an unfathomable inversion of reality, and through an endless stream of baseless lies, propagandist Nicholas Kristof turns the victim into the accused. Israel - whose citizens were the victims of the most horrific sexual crimes committed by Hamas on October 7, and whose hostages were later subjected to further sexual abuse - is portrayed as the guilty party. This publication is no coincidence. It is part of a false and well-orchestrated anti-Israel campaign aimed at placing Israel on the UN Secretary-General’s blacklist. Israel will fight these lies with the truth - and the truth will prevail.

This is great news. If this case makes it past the motions to dismiss stage, which is doubtful, there will be discovery. The Times will be able to get information to prove that its story is true and therefore not defamatory. And Also great news that Israel is so mad about this article; it means they know it is influencing public opinion.
Israel Foreign Ministry@IsraelMFA

Following the publication by Nicholas Kristof in The New York Times of one of the most hideous and distorted lies ever published against the State of Israel in the modern press, which also received the backing of the newspaper, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar have instructed the initiation of a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times.
