It's been a long time since these men met to decide the fate of Europe. The Paris Peace Conference began on 19th January 1919 and vast changes the Treaty of Versailles brought had huge consequences for Europe. Here's a summary of the changes by @andyhassan1985 #historyteacher

Black History Month Celebrations - Claudia Jones a journalist and activist, born in Trinidad and Tobago. Moved to the UK in 1955 and she joined the communist party of Great Britain. Shortly after she founded Britain’s first major black newspaper The West Indian Gazette in 1958

March 25 - #OnThisDay The Selma to Montgomery marches reach their conclusion. The marchers were protesting for the black community to be able to demonstrate their constitutional right to vote. Marchers faced violence and were attacked the protestors with billy clubs and tear gas.

February 14 - #OnThisDay Seven men in Chicago are shot dead by four men in disguise - two as police officers, and two in suits. Two of the gunmen used Thompson submachine guns, often nicknamed "Tommy guns". To this day we still have no confirmation on who the killers were.

February 8 - Mary, Queen of Scots, is beheaded. Elizabeth had Mary imprisoned in a number of locations from 1568-87. The Babington Plot of 1586 saw Mary give written consent to assassinate Elizabeth and this was used to put Mary on trial and ultimately execute her.
