I’ve been deep in the trenches, strategizing a project’s launch. But this morning, I came across a pitch deck—one that should’ve sold the project like a billion-dollar vision… but instead? It was a snooze fest😪. Most Web3 projects don’t know how to make investors desperate to throw money at them. So let me share my thoughts on this based on my research and study. Why Investors Say No (Even to Good Projects) Your project has real tech, real vision— yet investors still pass. Why? Because money moves on fear, greed, and conviction. Right now, investors are afraid. → They’ve been burned. → They don’t trust easily. And so if you pitch like everyone else—you’re just another risk. See, I don’t want you to ask for money. I want you to make them fight for a chance to invest. 1. Scarcity Sells (The Tesla Playbook) Tesla doesn’t sell cars. They create waiting lists. Bitcoin didn’t pump to $69K because people were buying— It pumped because people were FIGHTING to buy. → Make investors chase YOU • Cap your raise. (“Only $3M open. Oversubscribed? Too bad.”) • Pre-qualify investors. (Money alone isn’t enough. We want strategic partners.) • Leak FOMO signals. (Tweet: “Had a call today with a major player. Might close sooner than planned.”) Investors want what they can’t easily have. 2. Sell the Exit, Not the Startup Investors don’t care about your roadmap. They care about: Who’s buying you out? How do they 10x their money? Most founders pitch the journey. Smart founders pitch the inevitable exit. If it’s a fit, we can talk.” Now THEY have to prove why they deserve a spot. And lastly, I want you to always remember this one thing... Money Chases Certainty Investors don’t back ideas.
