I was talking to an architect friend of mine and he was telling me about how they are building some clusters for an 85 year old white man.
I was like at 85 why is he still building clusters for,and his response was he is doing it for his grandkids.
Started asking myself simple questions like why don’t we have plantations owned by many natives,
The answer became a bit obvious,we are mainly built to live for now,to try to achieve those goals that do not live beyond most of us!
How many of us are thinking of building or buying houses in towns like Marondera,Bindura,Chinhoyi e.t.c so few yet those places are blooming and in the next few years you won’t be able to buy properties at the current prices,
We all fight to own land in Harare where a mere 200 square metres go as high as 27 000 money enough to buy 2000 square metres from city council in the aforementioned places!
Are you able to plant a tree which you know that you will not be able to enjoy the shade or the fruits of ?
Are you able to buy land that you know you will not use but benefit your great children,
I am yet to find out is it because we lack or it’s because our mentality is not conditioned well!
I am not saying whites are better than us,hear me right,l am asking if we have the long term view or we don’t mind perpetuating the circle of poverty by not thinking beyond ourselves!
Sorry l am just thinking out loud, tell me what you think!

My guy! I thought about that when I was planting trees and I googled how long it would take for those trees to reach the height of 2 meters and it said 6 years. I almost gave up because I thought I actually don’t think I want to be living on house in the next 6 years. However, I quickly rebuked myself, telling myself, “if everyone thought like me then we wouldn’t even have trees in this world.” I like how you gave broad examples of how we should think beyond ourselves and the present. Instant gratification will be the death of ourselves, generations, and nations. Imagine, if all national leaders thought about how Zimbabwe would be like in years to come. We would have different priorities and cultures as a nation. Each generation would leave. A better Zimbabwe to be inherited by our future generations. Think of the story of Singapore and how leaders like Lee Kuan Yew built the foundation for the country (city) to be a world class economy from the mashes. Consider what the Emiratis did with the deserts of the Middle East. We need an urgent paradigm shift at personal, family, community, and national level.

@HustlingQueen1 @Makomborerol Mostly it has nothing to do with bathing. I lived for 2yrs in Cabinda with people from DRC, Angola, Indians and Chinese. Most of them don’t bath consistently like we do but their diet is different from ours. You will smell the spices off the skin more than the sweat

@mugadhuwi @Makomborerol I thought of it as well. Sadza isnt so good for us after all😩😭😭😹😹😹😹😹
