U.S. intelligence: Putin is confident of victory in Ukraine. Next goal — NATO The Russian dictator continues to believe that his army is making progress in Ukraine, and therefore he does not plan to stop the war. However, its continuation could lead to a conflict with NATO, including a threat to the U.S., according to a U.S. intelligence report. Despite the slowed pace of the Russian army’s advancement, the Kremlin sees no reason to halt the fighting. Intelligence officials believe this could escalate into a larger conflict, potentially involving direct confrontations with the U.S. and the use of nuclear weapons. At the beginning of the year, Russia’s army lost more territory than it captured, marking the first time this has happened since November 2023. China’s economic support helps Russia continue weapons production but also makes Russia more dependent on China.

The pathological refusal to listen to Ukrainians regarding their own country is beyond absurd. If you won't listen to our government, at least listen to the people in your own replies and quotes explaining exactly why elections are impossible during war. But no. Apparently, we’re all 'absolute morons' who need Meaghan to tell us what’s good for us. I'm surprised our country was able to function at all before you arrived with your opinions, like a guiding fucking star. 🤦‍♀️
Meaghan Mobbs@mobbs_mentality

For all of you absolute morons in the comments - Safe airspace resumption would strongly correlate with (and enable) conditions for free/fair national elections, because both depend on increased security, stability, and protection of infrastructure/civilians. So yes, the logic follows - if you can fly into a country, conditions exist to allow democracy to persist. But if airports do open and elections DON’T happen, well that will be a very strange thing indeed. So I am interested to see airport working groups progress, as the election working groups progress. Relatedly - elections happened during war in Ukraine already - the war began in 2014, not 2022.

MORE: Ukrainian drone units have been increasingly prioritizing and executing successful strikes against Russian artillery, drone operators and logistics targets in the near rear to achieve tactical effects. ⬇️(1/2) Ukraine’s short-range strike campaign against the Russian tactical near rear is increasingly degrading both Russian offensive and defensive capabilities by enabling Ukrainian forces to make tactical gains and hindering Russia’s ability to conduct artillery preparation for the anticipated Spring-Summer 2026 offensive.

NEW: Ukraine has been imposing increasing challenges on Russia at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels since the beginning of 2026. Other Key Takeaways: Recent Ukrainian advances in the Oleksandrivka direction and the continued success of Ukraine’s defensive lines in constraining Russian advances have forced the Russian military command into competing tactical and operational dilemmas on the battlefield. The competing dilemmas that Ukraine has imposed on the Russian military command have likely disrupted Russian preparations for their Spring-Summer 2026 offensive. The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) likely formalized some Russian Combat Army Reserve (BARS) elements. Tankers carrying Russian oil are reportedly sailing to Cuba in violation of the US embargo. Kremlin officials are reportedly considering military means to escort Russian ships. Russian federal censor Roskomnadzor is reportedly struggling to block all blacklisted resources on the Russian internet as Russian authorities are attempting to slowly throttle access to Telegram. The US decision to lift sanctions against Belarus will likely directly benefit Russia’s economy and therefore Russia’s war effort. A Russian Su-30 fighter jet briefly violated Estonian airspace on March 18. Ukrainian forces advanced in the Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka tactical area and in the Pokrovsk and Oleksandrivka directions. Russian forces advanced in the Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka tactical area and in the Hulyaipole direction. Russian forces launched 133 drones against Ukraine, including in Chernihiv, Volyn, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, and Lviv oblasts.

The Russian failure to make even tactical advances to seize favorable starting positions in the Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka tactical area for the anticipated Spring-Summer 2026 offensive against Ukraine’s Fortress Belt directly undermines Russia’s ability to achieve significant gains in the anticipated offensive.

NEW: Russian authorities continue efforts to temporarily deport Ukrainian children to Russia for cultural re-education, indoctrination, and forced integration into the Russian sphere of influence. Other Key Takeaways: Russian state atomic energy corporation Rosatom is also complicit in efforts to use summer camp programs for the indoctrination of Ukrainian children. Russian authorities are reportedly planning to resettle roughly 114,000 Russians in occupied Ukraine by 2045. Russia is already quietly manipulating the demographics of occupied Ukraine using financial incentives and work programs to draw Russians to occupied areas. The Zarnitsa 2.0 military-patriotic competition has begun its third season and is expanding its reach in occupied Ukraine. Russian occupation authorities are intensifying efforts to seize, nationalize, and redistribute properties in occupied Ukraine in accordance with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s December 2025 law. Russian occupation courts continue to weaponize dubious treason and espionage charges to levy harsh sentences against Ukrainians for perceived anti-Russian sentiments. Russia is increasingly migrating basic services to the state-controlled MAX messenger to force residents of occupied Ukraine to use the application. The Kremlin used the 12th anniversary of its illegal annexation of Crimea to highlight Russian purported investment in Crimea’s development — highlighting the role that such development projects play in Russia’s wider occupation strategy in Ukraine. Russian officials continue to highlight housing reconstruction efforts in occupied Mariupol.
