@FaithBorkowsky And the growth I’ve seen in the kids when I added indep reading time to our day, everything else stayed the same. Took me 3 years to pinpoint why my kids were growing so much more than years prior.

@FaithBorkowsky I know from: 1. the groans I hear when indep reading time is over; 2. using an engagement survey at 3 different points of indep reading time and looking at the data over time for trends within students, 3. conferring with kids about what they’re reading frequently

A2- reading blogs, professional articles, collaborating with others to compare to my own practice #ACEcubs

A1- conversation with student on process at arriving at answer, or reasoning for answer or process #ACEcubs
